WASHINGTON – The longest-ever government shutdown is about to create even more problems for Americans hoping to travel soon.

Federal officials said Wednesday, Nov. 5, that flight cuts are coming to major airports amid the funding crisis, which has now lasted for 37 days. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said there will be a 10% reduction in flights at 40 major airports at the end of the week.

Duffy did not specify how long the restrictions might last or which airports would be impacted, but officials stated they will begin on the morning of Friday, Nov. 7.

Ha! So much for the "leverage" the dems thought they had.

In case you forgot the last 30-day+ shutdown was ended by massive flight cancelations.

Imagine if all the air traffic controllers said "nope, not feeling well today:. Thatd be a mess.
It does not take that many calling off to make it a "mess".

When I worked for VDOC during my "rough" financial years in the 70s I know I could not miss two paychecks in a row and make my bills on time.

I would have had to found other work.

Anyone see that UPS crash in Kentucky?

Yikes.

Not that it had anything to do with Chuck Schumer. It was 34,000 gallons of fuel and a big ass explosion.

Not a problem for me, last time I took a flight was 1983.
Landlubber, eh? That's probably the best way to be. Personally, I make my annual trip to Vegas for the NFR (rodeo) and an NCAA wrestling tournament in early December. I thought I was beyond being affected by the stupidity and evil of the Democrat Party, but I guess I was wrong. Democrats suck.

That's 10% less carbons being emitted.

You would think liberals love this. The shutdown is saving the Earth.
That is a funny perspective.

THE SHUTDOWN MIGHT JUST SAVE THE PLANET! 😂

Now Trump is saving the world from FF emissions.

Have lefties figured out how to operate planes on butterfly farts?

You vile dems can't scratch dirt over this steaming pile of your own creation.

LOL....Enjoy your "leverage". :laughing0301:
No one believes that - check the election results.

No one burns more carbons than the Lear jet liberals. A reduction in their air time can only be a plus.
Greta is pleased.

In case you haven't noticed it's Thursday.....So how long before you vile dems cave?

Other than some RINO lip service I'm not seeing where you are gaining any concessions on Halfrican Care subsidies. :dunno:

Nice constituency you people put together there. Slackers, deep staters, totalitarian establishment asskissers, terrorists, billionaire robber barons, dummies and commies. You should be very proud.
Don't forget the budding young cat ladies that no real man wants a relationship with other than maybe a one night cum dumpster.

For Thanksgiving travel week 2025, expect a significant increase in travel, with the busiest days being Wednesday, November 26, and Sunday, November 30.

Meh, I don't see the dems playing chicken with Thanksgiving given the delays that will be hitting them like gut punches for the next couple weeks.
