Starting at 7 PM Eastern....

IMHO Letters from Iwo Jima is the slightly better of the two great Clint Eastwood directed movies concerning the battle.

"Letters from Iwo Jima" retarded Hollywood ending.
My uncle was a tough as nails Marine who fought on Iwo Jima and 3 other islands.
Him and his fellow Marines hated Japs and would have just shot this guy.

Another idiotic scene from the "Letters from Iwo Jima" movie.
Jap soldiers standing next to each other as they pressed hand grenades against their chest and pulled the ring to commit suicide. While those around them didn't get a scratch.
Also, a hand grenade exploding inside the small cave would have ruptured everyones eardrums and gave them brain concussions.

Flags Of Our Fathers sucked, but the book it was based on was absolutely fantastic, and written by the son of the lone corpsman pictured at the flag raising on Suribachi.

Letters from Iwo Jima is great, though, and I really enjoyed that one. The other movie just didn't deliver for me.
