Fixing Tax Loopholes, 51% of Americans Pay NO Incomes Taxes

I read about 8-9 pages of the vitriol on this thread before I decided to post. These willfully ignorant have the bollocks to accuse liberals of class warfare when the posts here were just dripping with venom against the poor.

Yes, there are people who are too poor to pay income taxes, most of SS if my friends are taken into consideration. LOL But the right seems to feel the poor folks want to be poor and are doing it willfully.

But this is a RW myth and I've made it my goal to strike it down every time I see it. It's bullshit and should be treated that way.
Yes yes yes. Look this thread has nothing to do with your desire to weep for the poor.
Quite frankly, the poor have nothing to do with this.
It is a FACT that nearly half of all Americans pay no federal income tax. That is a fact and it not in dispute. You Lefties dig up all the nonsense such as that dopey pie chart. A chart that tells only one part of the story.
You libs are hell bent on one tax increase after another.
You libs do not dare discuss fiscal responsibility because you do not believe in it.

No, it is not true that "nearly half" of all Americans pay no federal income tax. If it is such a fact where is your proof? It is just part of your magical thinking when you keep repeating this with nothing to back you up. If there is another part of the story, please be my guest and fill us in. At least we have a chart, you have nothing.

And your wild imaginings about how "libs" are is just another example of magical thinking. You don't deal in facts. Just magic thinking and bullshit.

I can see where these facts would really screw up your alternate reality Susan. Still, it is the truth and perhaps you need to face it. I found your attempts to use graphs that had nothing to do with the topic quite amusing.

Targeting a group on a certain rung of the economic ladder for higher taxes,

doesn't that perfectly fit the definition of what conservatives call 'class warfare'?

No. But it should fit well with the "shared sacrifice" crowd. No?

Then targeting tax breaks for corporate jets isn't class warfare?

Then why are all your idiot winger friends referring to it as such?

So when we say EVERYONE should pay their 'fair share' and the same percentage regardless of how much that percentage is, it's class warfare?

Did you self lobotomize or something?

No, when you're adamantly against raising taxes EXCEPT on lower income Americans,

that would be class warfare. Lower income Americans are a class, the tax increase is aimed at them specifically and uniquely.

"Same percentage". Unless the income comes from capital gains. Then it should be tax-free.

So much for the wealthy paying their 'fair share' I guess.

That's been your side's position all along. Socialized losses, privatized profits.

No. You can only wage war against humans. In their minds, the poor are vermin to be exterminated.

Everyone realizes this thread title is a falsehood, right?

47% of Americans paid no FEDERAL INCOME taxes in 2009. That year they still paid Federal payroll taxes, State income taxes, Local taxes, and State sales taxes.

Federal Income Tax is a specific tax Kuros. Try a little honesty instead of smoke and mirrors.

let's bytch about social security self employment tax payments, made by use self employed.

Fixing tax loopholes: about 15% of Americans pay less than the standard 7.65% of income in payroll taxes!

Fixing tax loopholes: About 30% of Americans pay well below their top marginal rate on unearned income relative to earned!

Fixing tax loopholes: Those same 30% pay NO contribution to the trust funds with that unearned income, while earned income pays 7.65% (+ some portion of the employer's contribution).

The Tax Foundation - Number of Americans Outside the Income Tax System Continues to Grow

Report after report has shown a growing majority, conservatively at 40%, of American workers pay no income tax, ZERO. Meanwhile the top 10% of American income earners fund 70% of total federal income taxes.

Where is the shared sacrifice?

If those who are paying zero income tax were to contribute 'their fair share' perhaps it would solve this current financial situation--for a few months at least. But it isn't politically expedient to go after people who don't pay taxes.

This is a result of tax credits, loopholes if you will, that allow median income earners to pay virtually nothing in income tax. Obama is all for inciting a mob against the evil rich who are currently funding this unsustainable spending spree that has intensified more under the short two years, though it seems much longer, of Obama's presidency than it has under any other administration.

Record monthly deficit spending was reached back in March and has continued at $200 billion a month. The US Federal Government spends $200 billion more a month than it takes in revenue, and Obama wants everyone to believe the problem is the rich aren't paying their fair share :eusa_liar:.

But we're told that cutting deficit spending will damage the economy. That is the justification for this absurd situation: fixing it will hurt the economy; as if continuing in this manner is going to have anything but an apocalyptic outcome .

Americans have become desensitized to the constant cries of crisis that Obama has used to achieve the entirety of his legislative agenda, it isn't working anymore.

you realize that the 40% who pay no income taxes are the poorer americans right? The earned income credit gives some of them a complete tax refund of all income taxes paid plus extra money back that they did not pay into the system.

So bringing everyone on EQUAL terms of treatment under government would be class warfare??

It's class warfare that they have received a free ride for so long

And since it's been GOP tax cuts for votes that gave them their free ride, it's the GOP playing class warfare by YOUR own standard.

No it doesn't. The EITC can not exceed the value of payroll taxes paid by the individual or family.

Poor people with dependents.

I don't care if it was the GOP, DEMs, INDs, or the ******* Smurfs that did things over the decades hat led to this...

But bring every citizen on equal treatment terms to have each and every dollar of income taxed the exact same way and at the exact same rate... no exception...

And when you have some saying that doing such a thing is class warfare, I call absolute bullshit

That's pure bullshit. You thought you could pin the GOP class warfare on Obama.

Actually about 51% of americans do not work at any paying job.

Houeswives, children, college kids, elderly, disabled, politicians, etc.

How dare those poor people have babies!!! Don't they know only the rich are entitled to have children???

Nice try...

I don't care who did what along the way.. and it was all parties and administrations and congresses that have had a hand in this.... plenty of blame to go around... Obama included
