Five-Time Vietnam Draft Dodger Trump on US Soldiers' Killed So Far in Iran War: "That's the Way It Is." Former Presidents Spoke of Agonizing Decision.

It`

It`s a war of choice that we started. Duh!
We killed tens of thousands looking for WMDs that we knew didn`t exist. Shame on us that there were no repercussions for the evil people that lied American soldiers to their deaths.

If that is all that dolt has, he should just give it up.

I was in the military for 12 years, and I am not the least bit bothered by that. A military is useless if the CiC refuses to deploy them unless there is a guarantee that none will be harmed.

I'll take Trump's sincere reaction by far over the phony posturing and angsting over their deaths by a president who is too busy calculating the political benefits and downsides of every word out of his mouth to even have a real reaction.

The potential loss of life would be far greater if Iran's mullahs had been allowed to continue to build nuclear weapons.
The only country that`s ever nuked civilians should make the rules on who can have nukes and who can`t? I don`t think so.

Yeah. The US saved well over a million Japanese lives by dropping those bombs.

Had Germany or Japan or Russia had that technology, they wouldn't have stopped at two.

In this case might and experience make right.

Plus, the issue with nukes is not having too many, which establishes Mutually Assured Destruction, the problem is having just enough were you think you can perform a first strike and limit or eliminate any nuclear response.

India and Pakistan having few dozen warheads each is far riskier than the US and Russia having thousands each.

No, Mass Murder is Mass Murder. It does not which country does it.

We were bombing the shit out of them for all of 1945 to make the war end. Total war is just that.

He survived the draft lotteries and had deferments like we all did . Fake thread title

Former presidents have spoken movingly about the most agonizing decision they have ever made, to send someone else's children into harm's way as a last, and only last, resort. Trump to the families: "That's the way it is."

Trump received not one not two but five draft deferments to avoid combat in Vietnam, four of them academic and the last one for "bone spurs." From a doctor who his billonaire daddy undoubtedly helped him find.

Trump:

“Sadly, there will likely be more (US deaths) before it ends. That’s the way it is.”

For the record,

- Iran hasnotstarted a war in 250 years, whenit was under the Persian Monarchy

- In 1953 the CIA overthrew the peaceful and democratically elected Mohammed Mossadeq, who President Eisenhower once called the "best hope" for the development of democracy in the Middle East. It iis possible that the CIA initiated the coup without Eisenhower's knowledge.

- Mossadeq was then replaced by the Shah of Iran, one of the worst torturers in modern history through hs feared secret police SAVAK. The Shah's excesses were the dirct cause of the 1979 Iranian Revoluton. It is the Shah's Phalavi descendent who is waiting in the wings.
You Lefties are such hypocritical tools.
First, Iran is (was?) the chief exporter of terrorism around the world. What Persian did or didn't do 250 years ago is of ZERO consequence to what's going on now in the nuclear age. They had enough nuclear material to produce 11 nuclear bombs.
Second, if you're going to criticize Trump's lack of military service, let me remind you ...
Bill Clinton dodged the draft.
Obama never served in the military.
Joe Biden never served in the military.
See how this works, hypocrite?

You know that because.....?

They had enough nuclear material to produce 11 nuclear bombs.
In a Dec. 26 report, the IAEA noted that Iran is now producing approximately nine kilograms of uranium enriched to 60 percent uranium-235 per month. Iran was producing 60 percent enriched U-235 at a similar rate in early 2023, but decreased production by about two-thirds in June

There is no realistic, practical civilian use for 60% enriched uranium.

You know that because.....?

Educate yourself

Downfall: The End of the Imperial Japanese Empire

The invasion of Japan would have been disastrous for both sides. Plus the conventional bombing would have continued along with the complete destruction of Japan's transport network. That would have led to starvation.

Another thing would be the deaths of tens to hundreds of thousands every month of Chinese, Koreans and Indonesians would have continued in the vast land still held by the Japanese army on the Asian mainland.

Why invade? It`s an Island and they weren`t going anywhere nor were they importing things that they would need to stay alive. We spent billions developing the nukes which guaranteed that someone somewhere would get nuked.
You`re pretending to care about Chinese, Koreans and Indonesians. Who are you trying to BS here?

I am talking about not using the nukes, idiot, and why not using them would have been more deadly in the long run.

The problem with just starving them out is war weariness was a real issue in the US after Germany was defeated. Also going on longer added to the chance we would have had to split Japan with the Soviets. A North and South Japan would have drastically changed the Cold war matrix in the Pacific.

And your last dig is pathetic, just like you.
