Kurdish organizations and Finnish anarchists organized an anti-Turkish provocation in Oulu. A scarecrow depicting Recep Erdogan was labeled a "terrorist. A rope-bound effigy depicting the Turkish president was dragged through the city center by a crowd carrying PKK flags.
On Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, a demonstration, "An End to Fascism in Turkey," organized by the anarchist group Autonomy in support of the Kurdish PKK and its leader Abdullah Öcalan was held in the city of Oulu. The incident was reported to the police in advance.
"Finland is violating its own law, EU law and international human rights conventions by agreeing to Turkey's demands to extradite people," protest organizers wrote in a Facebook post*, referring to a memorandum of understanding signed by Finland and Sweden together with Turkey in Madrid last summer. "Since last summer, Erdogan has been blackmailing Finland into joining NATO. More recently, he has made vague threats that Finland should not make 'the same mistakes' as Sweden," the organizers continued.
________
If the Finns really wanted to join NATO, they would have kissed Erdogan's ass instead
