Finland and Sweden Approve Nato Membership.

Kurdish organizations and Finnish anarchists organized an anti-Turkish provocation in Oulu. A scarecrow depicting Recep Erdogan was labeled a "terrorist. A rope-bound effigy depicting the Turkish president was dragged through the city center by a crowd carrying PKK flags.

On Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, a demonstration, "An End to Fascism in Turkey," organized by the anarchist group Autonomy in support of the Kurdish PKK and its leader Abdullah Öcalan was held in the city of Oulu. The incident was reported to the police in advance.

"Finland is violating its own law, EU law and international human rights conventions by agreeing to Turkey's demands to extradite people," protest organizers wrote in a Facebook post*, referring to a memorandum of understanding signed by Finland and Sweden together with Turkey in Madrid last summer. "Since last summer, Erdogan has been blackmailing Finland into joining NATO. More recently, he has made vague threats that Finland should not make 'the same mistakes' as Sweden," the organizers continued.
________

If the Finns really wanted to join NATO, they would have kissed Erdogan's ass instead

Finland and Sweden became observer members of NATO (invitee) last July. As an invitee, Sweden and Finland may participate in NATO meetings, but is not entitled to vote. Ratification is expected to last from a few months to one year. Finland and Sweden will likely achieve full membership later this year.

On 5 July 2022, all NATO member countries signed the Accession Protocol for Sweden.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said it was a historic day "for Finland, for Sweden, for NATO and for Euro-Atlantic security." The accession protocols now move to the alliance's 30 member nations for national ratification according to the procedures of the various nations.

Since the vote to make the two nations non-voting members was approved by all members the only remaining step to full membership is approve by member governments. This is likely to be accomplished before the end of this year.

USA should discuss with Finland and Sweden how they can work toether with Russia to de-escalate tensions and find a diplomatic path to resolve teir issues.
The diplomatic path is simple, Russia just has to pull back to within it's 2001 borders. Give up South Ossetia that it seized from Georgia and the areas that it was seized from Ukraine.

It may be simple path but not an easy one for two sides to new negotiate. Russia has to have some sort of victory. Putin is not going send his army back to Moscow with their tails between their legs having accomplished nothing.

If Norwegian and U.S. involvement in terrorist attacks on their NATO allies and the destruction of Nord Streams is confirmed, the only reasonable consequence would be an immediate end to all cooperation between Sweden and the North Atlantic alliance, "Nya Dagbladet" wrote.
The organization and execution of the bombing of important European infrastructure by prior collusion should be considered a covert NATO operation that has severely affected Europe's population.

I don't think anything is going stop the final step to membership, ratification by member countries. The applications for membership were accepted and non-voting membership got a unanimous approval. It is expected that full membership will be granted within 6 months.
