Fiber and the immune system.

Article discusses the importance of dietary fiber and the immune system health.

Fibre (we spell it this way in Canada due to the French influence) is the secret weapon for cleaning arteries and getting rid of junk accumulating in the body.

As one ages, one takes a more whole approach to ones health.

Sadly, many are unable or unwilling to change in time to save themselves a lot of misery and expense.

Thanks Wood.
I've been on a high fiber high protein diet for about two years now [mostly just plant food but I eat chicken and fish as well]...do you know if there is a limit to fiber intake? I take in far more than the recommended dosage [19-38 grams] in the article/report.

I would just say that if you have regular bowel movements that are easily passed and are odorless you are doing alright. Complete digestion of food before it enters the colon is crucial to immune health as well. Overeating causes poorly digested to food to enter the colon causing smelly farts and stool and disrupts the biota needed for immune health. Also, check the back of your tongue for 'scum' which indicates poor digestion as well. Your tongue should be clean all the way back.

So, how does that work exactly? We don't digest fiber.

Science is slowly being released that we need a near-zero-carb diet as we can manage to maintain optimum health and weight.

Highly processed anything is horrible for the human body.

I don't want to get into the specifics as I am not a biologist but I do know that insoluble vs soluble fibre has a different benefit.

For me I eat fiber and protein before meals, especially if a high carb meal (which I try to avoid) as it decreases the glucose levels and slows the absorption of the carbs which is important to decrease visceral fat.

It also makes you feel more full and decreases LDL cholesterol which is critical for avoiding heart attacks and keeping the brain clean.

After I had my health issues I radically altered my diet and it has helped me immensely, especially the sharpness in the brain, no more headaches and pains behind my eye for the most part which scared the hell out of me.
