By in large, the FBI is very good at investigating crimes across multi-jurisdictional boundaries, solving many crimes every day and bringing the evidence to combat, bank robberies, financial crimes, human trafficking, domestic terrorism, fraud, and a host of other crimes. They are mostly made up of highly trained professionals that do us a good job. I support the organization, goals, mandate and general professionalism of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as do most Americans.

I think you have them confused with the Department of Homeland Security, the largest non-military stockpile buyer of arms and ammunition in the country. It was not needed and it's job could have and was being handled by other agencies, that should have been required to cooperate on intelligence and enforcement, not to be used as an occupying force at discretion of the executive branch to avoid using uniformed military to take illegal actions against the citizenry.

Homeland security was that dummy GWBs baby and it was never really needed. It might have been to create a job for his buddy Tom Ridge. I agree that government is way too big. But even though the DHS is useless, it doesn't change the fact that there is mega corruption at the DOJ-FBI. I'd have no problem getting rid of the DHS since it was only formed to do the unneccessary job of coordinating between the corrupt intelligence agencies. It all happened because all the evidence that should have made the 911 attacks evident got lost in the bureaucratic shuffle and nobody got alerted about anything. DHS was just created to make believe Bush adressed that problem. But it turned out to be nothing more than another layer of bureaucratic bullshit. So if you want to get rid of DHS, I'm all for it. There are probably 5 more big agencies we could also get rid of while we're at it. And you know that only Trumpie could get anything like that done. Agree. Biden will do nothing about DHS, but I do not see him using it as his own strike force free of the usual customary protections against the rights of citizens. I am also not very impressed with customs and border patrol agent's checkpoints more than 50 miles from the border in our southwestern states.
