One has only to read the scientific journals to see what is happening. As for the age of the earth, for over half the Earth's history, you could not even breath the atmosphere. And there was no recognizable creatures for 7/8's of that history.

What is revelant today is the changes in relationship to the need to maintain the agriculture that over 7 billion people are dependent on. And we are creating changes that very negatively affect that ability.
