I'm inclined to believe they KNEW he had nothing left and were just using that as an excuse to fish for something, ANYTHING they could use to smear or prosecute him with. Our nation has fallen. The agencies of our government have been weaponized against average citizens and now, even against political opponents at the highest level.

I've said it many times and stick with it. The Constitution provides TWO situations that would legally keep a person from being POTUS. If that citizen has been elected and is impeached by the House and convicted and removed by the Senate, OR has been convicted of the very specific, Constitutionally defined crime of Treason. That's it. They can literally be convicted of murder or any other crime against the federal law and the only recourse is to have the people choose to reject or accept them.

The Left is creating the predicate to accuse Trump of being guilty of some crime that "should" disqualify him and since they cannot enforce it with SCOTUS in the way, they will ramp it up to full hysteria mode and when he announces and they finally have to admit they cannot stop him, they are going into the streets ala Saint Floyd di Fentanyl 2.0 and start burning, looting, and murdering to stop him taking the office again.
