Because the host didn't make the statement that there weren't murders in the US under Bush. He did make the statement that there weren't any terrorist attacks under Bush. The implication is that Bush kept us safe and Obama has not. The more, broad reaching implication is that the Conservative movement is a movement that will keep people safe while the Liberal movement is one that will not.
There is absolutely no evidence to believe that whatsoever. This is just an ignorant statement and as a journalist on national TV, he should not have said it.
omg. the freak out over what ONE PERSON said on some opinion show.. sheesh
Who's freaking out? I'm not freaking out.
The big picture here is that viewers who are watching Fox News are mis-led on a regular basis.
Another example would be Sean Hannity pointing out that our deficit was $9 trillion in 2008 when the elections were held, but in 2009, the debt jumped to $11 trillion. He's obviously trying to make you believe that Bush, a conservative, was a responsible spender and that Obama, a liberal is an irresponsible spender. What he doesn't tell you is that the deficit jumped when the Bailout Bill was passed under Bush, but that debt was added onto the 2009 budget, not the 2008 budget. But the biggest expense was the Iraq War which served absolutely no purpose to US interests whatsoever. Hussein had no WMDs and it costs us thousands of lives and billions of dollars. Also, the tax cut in 2001 and 2002 did nothing for the economy, but cost us billions of dollars.
When you DECREASE income, you INCREASE debt!
