father of five was detained by ICE on his way to work. Now his family is losing their home

It's happened before.

Maybe. Big waste of time to get rid of one of 11 plus millions.
I'm sure you would agree that if it were a Tren de Aragua member, it would not be a waste fo time.

If it's another one of these hard-working dads who happen to hang out with Tren de Aragua members, you have a point.

I should have said this earlier, but you realize that the OP story is not only incompete as you said, but it is false in the details that support its main main, correct?

Do you agree with the approach of going after criminals like Tren de Aragua as a priority and only catching the hard working dad types as a collateral detention? Assuming that a hard-working dad somehow finds himself hanging out with Tren de Aragua.

I have zero problems with arresting those who have committed crimes.

That has happened for decades.

I do have a problem with arresting someone for simply being here illegally when we won't arrest those hiring them.

Arresting and deporting Tren de Aragua members?

So some crimes should go unpunished?

Arresting and deporting Tren de Aragua members?

That's just the word of the day. No one even heard of them until recently.

So some crimes should go unpunished?

No but there shouldn't be a two tiered justice system. If some are arrested for coming here for jobs, those offering them the Jobs should be also.

We should not have a system where some are held responsible when others are not.

But should Tren de Aragua members be deported?

Yes. All gang members should. Creating scary words though....................
I believe the gang named it self.

But, I'm glad you think they should be deported. Some will only say that they should be "dealt with" or "punished" or some other vague phraseology to avoid saying that they should be deported.

I agree. Deportation is the answer for gangs and other lawbreakers.

The politicians didn’t create the problem, they just facilitated it.

Yes, they allow it to happen. They could have put a huge dent in the issue long ago but they are afraid to cross business interests.

Sob story my ass. We don't know if he's illegal. ICE has been taking in American citizens.
American citizens can verify their nationality very quickly. If he wasn’t illegal he would have been released within hours, just as soon as his wife could bring his DL or ID card to the ICE station. Almost all Americans carry Real ID cards at all times.

What other Constitutional issues do you want ignored?

These are the types of sob stories the media is going put out there to undermine the effort to fight illegal immigration. The man looks to be about 40 or so years old, so he had twenty something years to fix his status. This is on him, no matter how the media tries to spin it.

Wow, that was quick. Teach people what illegal means and we won't have a problem.

in this case they created it by opening up the borders,,
.

And advertising that the border was wide open and America was ready to give the criminal a ton of goodies when he stepped across the line.

Including lawyers to teach the criminal how to go about getting those goodies without any hassle.

.

It’s a ramping-up process which is also going to create ever more improper interference. It may cause some “drag” on the progress for a while.

On the other hand, I do like the fact that the first focus is on illegals who then proceed to commit other crimes, here. They really do deserve more attention. Then? Then we continue.

Homan, so far, is doing well.

People demanding perfection ignore the beauty of "pretty damn good so far"

Nonsense. MANY people do not have anything that is "real ID". (Indeed, some states only started issuing them a few years ago.)
