If they had opened up three months later it would have been the same keeping everyone and everything locked down which can not be done indefinitely does not make a virus go away. When you take into account the overall population of these states the increase is not as severe as it’s made out to be. What was expected is that states followed CDC protocols leading up to re-opening.........meet CDC criteria in order to re-open (like a downward trend in cases for a few weeks)............and follow the guidelines the CDC established for businesses to open. Many red states ignored the CDC recommendations. In part because Trump encouraged them to do so.
