My husband has been saying this for YEARS. Our daughter just got married earlier this month, partly because he brainwashed her from birth that she WOULD NOT have a fall wedding during football season.

What are your thoughts?

(PS BRAINDEAD LIBERALS: Rubio is JOKING. There's not going to be an EO on this. Buy a sense of humor please)

The best thing about Fall is that the golf courses open up on weekends, because of college and pro football. I think that ALL professional football should be played on Sundays for just that reason.

I think it's hilarious that anyone would be so wound up in college FB that they would be pissed off about missing something due to a wedding.

Seems right shallow to me.

Then again I had an odd problem with college football.

LOL....My wife's boss (passed many years ago) insisted on dragging us along to UVA football games. He was old and paid the wife well so we went along with it.

It was fine till deer season came along and I had to tell him straight-up that I was not gonna waste a deer hunting day to drive down to C-Ville and watch a game I had no interest in. I don't even like college football.

LOL....Then he started dragging us along to Redskins games....That was fine, it was only on a Sunday or Monday night back then and I enjoyed them.....That and back then you could not hunt on Sunday.

Oct 11, it was sunny and 80 in MN. Has never hit that since on our anniversary

I don’t get invited to a lot of weddings, so it wouldn’t really bother me much, but I can see certain people I know being very upset if one of their kids or close family members scheduled a wedding for certain times of the year.

I have friends who told their kids not to plan anything for the last week of July or the first two weeks of August. They go to Western PA for a two vacation during that period every year.

My daughter got married on a Saturday afternoon in October and made me miss the best contest of the year. I have only forgiven her because she married the best son-in-law a father could ask for!

They take that stuff serious in FL. I'm in the minority that doesn't, but a lot of dudes do. 3/5 or so.
Some women, too. Oh yeah, it's a thing. College ball in FL is surius bidness.

Anyone who would put any athletic event before their children is an asshole.

This is the best comment yet. How any years you been married, and how many kids you got?

Now that's what I'm talking about.

Not to mention:

People think "fall wedding" and here in MI, they imagine a perfect 65 degree day, sunny, etc.

In October, say, we get about five or six of those. So you have a better chance of getting a rainy, 50 degree day or an early Oct day that is 85 degrees than you do of that perfect day.

Yes, shallow for you, you're willing to miss games for deer season. Which is fine, that's your thing! So imagine one of your kids planning their wedding for Nov 15

Her wedding day was a bright crisp early fall day with temps in the upper 60s. Perfect football weather.

My husband and I have been happily married for 31 years, partly because we just let the other one be. He's a MAJOR fan of one of the college teams here and basically singlehandedly spearheads a huge tailgate crew. That's HIS thing, he loves it, and I'm happy to let him have it. He's a season ticket holder.

Because he coached our son's travel league baseball growing up, he wanted to spend equal special time with our daughter, the one who just got married. So, MY HUSBAND took her to Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and all the other little girl faves. Yes, my husband and thousands of screaming 8 year olds.

He's a great dad and I adore him
