Exporting Hate in the Name of GOD: Part 2

The division is on how the marriages and businesses should be done.
The churches or businesses should not be forced to accommodate them one way or the other.
Again please focus. That is not the issue we are dealing with here. However, I will say this: All religious institutions are exempt from having to accommodate gays if they choose not to. Places of public accommodation are another story. That issue has been beaten to death on this forum and it is off topic for this thread.

You dropped my first and second sentences which is the issue.

No I did not. I responded to them separately ( See # 38) Focus!!

Those physical and mental health issues, and adverse effects on teens are the result of discrimination, marginalization, and attempts to force people to hide who they are and live in shame and fear. There are LGBT people and they are what they are. They are not going to change or go away.

Not true. Those who hoped to prove that adverse affects were a result of marginalization, etc. studied communities where no such discrimination took place. Medical and mental health issues were the same as in societies who they felt marginalized LGBT. Wasn't saying the issue would go away. Everyone has something to overcome, and those issues won't go away either.

A while back, I started a thread entitled Exporting Hate in the Name of GOD: Americans Who Promote ANTI LGBT Agendas Overseas which has since gond dormant.

I introduced the topic by saying that "this is an issuen that has gotten too little attention. American's who go overseas to support, encourage and defend harsh anti-LGBT laws. These are extremists who are obsessed with denying rights to LGBT people. Having largely lost the fight at home, they are compelled to take it elsewhere."

In todays news there is a piece about a whole new cast of characters engaged the same type of bigoted proselytizing in Europe as the others are doing in Africa.

I thought that "Religion and Ethics " would be a fitting location for this new thread, since I find these activities -aimed at influencing foreign goverments to oppress a minority- decidedly unethical, as is undermining women's reproductive freedom. And they are using religion as a weapon to do so.

Here is the latest:

Leadership Institute Joins ADF To Train Religious Right Activists In Europe
Peter Montgomery | Right Wing Watch

In the latest sign that the U.S. Religious Right increasingly views its anti-LGBTQ and anti-choice activism as part of a global culture war, American activists will be part of the training team at next month’s European Advocacy Academy, which is designed to make European advocates for “traditional” views on sex, gender and family more effective—and to make them “part of an international network that transcends country borders.” U.S.-based Religious Right groups have actively promoted anti-LGBTQ equality measures in Europe under the banner of protecting the family.

The European Advocacy Academy is organized by European Dignity Watch, a Brussels-based nonprofit group founded in 2010 that says it “defends the most vital foundations of a free society: fundamental freedoms and responsibility, marriage and the family, and the protection of life from conception to natural death.”

I am especially appalled by their use of termns like "dignity", "free society" and "fundamental freedoms" while expousing a cavilier and hateful ideology towards fellow human being. The fact is though that they don't see LGBT people as human beings at all. They don't see them as beings who are desrving of dignity, freedome, marriage and family

Among those appearing in European Dignity Watch’s promotional video is board member Sophia Kuby, a cofounder and former executive director of the group who is now director of EU advocacy for ADF International. She also took part in this year’s World Congress of Families in Budapest, and in April’s Political Network for Values gathering in Brussels, the theme of which was “How Far Can We Get?”
What have queers done for us, aside from giving us AIDS?

Well, Alan Turing cracked the code for the enigma machine during WWII, which may well have been the most important turning point in the war, just to name one. We all should be gratefull.

We also have Walt Whiteman and Tennessee Williams . :)
Wasn't Tennessee Williams a penguin who escaped from the zoo every show?

Decrying sin isn't hate.

If it was we would let the sinners rot in their sin rather than spend time being hated preaching to them.

Marriage between a man and a woman is essential to God's plan of happiness. Living a life contrary will always lead to misery.
I don't relate to the concept of sin and anyone who thinks that they know what "gods plan" is - is delusional.

I'm sorry that you are close minded and won't go to the Lord and learn from Him when He is holding His arms out ready to teach you

Why do the buttstains post in Religion and ethics? They have neither.

It does seem peculiar to post in a religious section seeking religious dialogue when you have no desire to hear any religious viewpoints.

If queers would simply keep it in the bedroom, where it belongs, no one would have a problem with them. But no. They flaunt it in our faces, then bitch and moan when we fail to accept and embrace them. They teach their perverted lifestyle to our children in school, without our consent, then use the courts to persecute anyone who doesn't like it. F*CK YOU!
Oh give me a fucking break. !! When was the last time that you saw a gay or lesbian person having sex except on those porn sites that I suspect that you frequent? Stick to the topic.

They bitch and moan when they are marginalized and discriminated against, the same way tat you would if you were discriminated against for being whatever the hell it is that you are.

Teach children what exactly?? Children are taught tolerance and acceptance of people who are different. If you have a problem with that you are beyond help. Stop being stupid !
Children are taught to fuck each other up the ass. And that should not be tolerated.

And yet we tolerate it in our media.

Look at how many Hollywood sex scandals have been coming forth that everyone in the industry knew about and no one did a thing to stop. And these are the people we let into our homes preaching on their soap boxes in show after show.

Is it any wonder our culture is so corrupt and dark? Is it a wonder sin is so prevelant?
WE do not tolerate anything. We are not the media moguls. We are outraged that this has happened and, if you noticed, there is a backlash.

Yet you still watch their shows. Their movies. Etc.

Kevin spacey gets accused of child abuse and the media defends him as courageous for coming out as gay...

Huge backlash there

No
That was Tennessee Tuxedo. :)

Tennessee Williams was a playwright and writer who wrote A Streetcar Named Desire and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

Care to provide some documentation of that?? Don't just post assertions like that without backing it up.

I've done my research, you can do yours. Plus, currently don't have time to go and pull it up for you, a task which you are perfectly capable of doing for yourself. I'm just passing along something I made a previous study of. You don't have to take it, you can leave it. Either is fine with me.

I would just like to know how and where someone came up with a control group of gay people who never experienced discrimination, fear, or were made to feel shame-Ever.

Tillerson Must Speak Out on Global Anti-LGBTQ Attacks | Human Rights Campaign

Today, the Human Rights Campaign released a letter from HRC President Chad Griffin to U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson about the growing attacks against the LGBTQ community around the world. In the letter, Griffin calls on Secretary Tillerson to speak out against the anti-LGBTQ human rights abuses occurring in Egypt, Chechnya, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Georgia, Tanzania, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan. To date, neither President Trump nor Secretary Tillerson have publicly condemned the atrocities.

HRC President Chad Griffin states in the letter:

Dear Mr. Secretary:

Last week, it was reported that the Egyptian parliament is considering legislation that would criminalize a broad array of acts by LGBTQ Egyptians and their allies. This follows weeks of alarming crackdowns which have targeted Egypt’s LGBTQ community and have reportedly led to over 60 arrests. As president of the Human Rights Campaign, the world’s largest LGBTQ advocacy organization, I urge you speak out about this persecution quickly and with a commitment to holding the Egyptian government accountable.

The most recent wave of anti-LGBTQ persecution began in September, when authorities in Cairo arrested seven people who had been photographed at a concert raising a rainbow flag. These arrests marked the beginning of an unprecedented and widespread crackdown on LGBTQ Egyptians -- some being beaten and subjected to invasive physical exams. Within one week, the Egyptian government banned the media from showing any kind of support for the LGBTQ community, further curtailing freedom of expression. Perhaps as a result, Egyptian media under the thumb of the government have largely backed the crackdown, publishing articles encouraging Egyptians to target LGBTQ people with hate speech and hate crimes.

Even more concerning are reports that the Egyptian parliament will consider legislation that would criminalize sexual relations between people of the same sex with imprisonment of at least one year. The legislation even criminalizes anyone carrying a symbol or sign that demonstrates support of the community with the same mandatory sentence of at least one year. Advocates attempting to fight the legislation face enormous legal obstacles in organizing, making a strong condemnation from the U.S. and other international actors all the more crucial.

In addition to addressing the state-sponsored persecution underway in Egypt, we urge you to speak out more broadly against the onslaught of state-sponsored persecution of LGBTQ people in Chechnya, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Georgia, Tanzania, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan.

I'll bet that the scum bucket does no say or do a damned thing!

For a minute there I thought this was about the Muslim terror attack in NYC. But then I realize a left wing nutter thinks that hate in the name of religion is ok if it’s a Muslim.

TheRegressivePervert considers any basic standards of morality and decency to be “hate”.

Pretty much it. Mentally ill fetishists should be discriminated against and their practices restricted, especially homosexuals; they are a public health menace and a threat to children as well. Only a sicko thinks we should normalize the sick destructive behavior they indulge in and now are promoting to children in schools.

It's ridiculous to care whether they feel all 'oppressed' or not. Anybody feel bad about Charles Manson feeling all oppressed, or homosexual hero and icon Jeffrey Daumer getting locked up? They're still selling child molester and meth dealer Matthew Sheppard as a great Martyr, and they think we should feel sorry for them and give them special rights.

The Netherlands mental health survey highlights that homosexuals tend to drug addiction, suicide, and other mental health problems at significant rates far above heterosexuals, and the Dutch are the most homo friendly country on Earth. They can't keep lying about the fact it's a mental illness forever, lying about it being 'genetic', and every other dimwitted excuse and fake 'science' claims.

People who stir up anti LGBT sentiments will have blood on their hands:

this is especially retarded, given the 'gay community's' penchant for spreading deadly diseases at epidemic levels as they did with AIDS among themselves, despite all the warnings and statistics. They murder millions and then whine about being 'discriminated against'. Shall we make a list of all the other epidemics they like to spread?

And re the links, we all already know you're sickos, and that homos all know they're sickos themselves, and they revel in it.

I cannot go so far to say that homosexuality is a mental illness. What research tells us is that people who engage in homosexual acts have a greater rate of physical and mental health problems. This does not mean all homosexuals will face such issues, simply that there is a greater chance that they might and such issues result in a less happy, fulfilling life. This being the case, how can we encourage homosexuality? It would be like encouraging adultery because it feels good at the time, knowing the result is often unhappiness not only for spouses and children, but ultimately, also for the adulterer.

That being said, the government doesn't remove tax credits for adulterers or the legal right for them to be involved in family issues. The government should neither push homosexuality nor punish it. Nor should heterosexuals jump on the bandwagon for celebrating homosexuality, not unless they are also on the bandwagon for celebrating physical and mental problems. Be respectful. Those who want to push sexual issues (of any kind) in school should knock it off.

Not that I care a whole helluva lot, but this thread is not about religion or ethics, it's about politics. Couched in terms that appear to be religious, but it ain't.
