CA does not issue carry permits to non-CA residents.
CA does not recognize out-of-state permits.
it is impossible for me to legally carry a gun in CA.

Take it to SCOTUS, I'm sure someone will, and they can decide. Our opinions are meaningless.

I'm not the one giving them the firearm.

However, if they went passed all the background checks, applied for the permit, etc, etc, etc,... that would be required to obtain such a firearm then the retailer selling the firearm would know they are law abiding.

You're right, I admitted defeat. I was unable to convince you that your legal assessment was just that, YOUR legal assessment. You can interpret the 2nd any way you choose but only SCOTUS has the last word and until they do, you're just out of luck. Until SCOTUS rules on it, CA is within their Constitutional right not to allow people from other states to walk around their state carrying a gun. You can protest of course and not go to CA, that is your Constitutional right.
