Ex-officer who said he mistook a Black man's keys and phone for a gun gets 15 years to life for murder

Fair enough but how do we justify the actions of the Capital Cop who shot and killed unarmed Ashli Babbitt?

A former Ohio police officer convicted of murder in the shooting of Andre Hill, a Black man who was holding a cellphone and keys when he was killed, was given a mandatory sentence Monday of 15 years to life.

Expect a pardon.

This should be easy to appeal.

Murder requires forethought. I doubt he hopped out of his cruiser and said "I'm going to shoot a negro today."

This should have been manslaughter.

**** em he feared for is life and shit

Years and years ago in Houston, a black preacher was stopped. As he exited his vehicle he reached onto the dash and swept up with his right hand, it was a bible. Now the light wasn't good, and the motion was no different than if raising a pistol. He got smoked then and there. Circumstances dictate response. The officer was no billed.
I hope someone canoed his head.

I read the story but could not find what the white cop was doing in some garage.

Was he called there because there was a disturbance? Maybe he went in there thinking there could be trouble.

So? This does not mean that people cannot mistake what one's holding in one's hand to be a weapon.

Personally I tend to sympathize with the white cop. Black people, especially black men, are very dangerous. They are constantly resisting arrest and having encounters with the law enforcement. If I were a cop and I saw a black man holding up what I thought was a weapon, I'd shoot, too. Better he dead than I dead.

You shouldn't go anywhere near a jury. You are hugely biased (you badly want to put a white man in jail) and furthermore, your brain doesn't seem to work very well.

Youre a copsucker. You'll excuse anything.

Well, do we have good reasons to believe that the white cop was lying? Think about the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The article isn't very clear, but I think that when he went in, it was in response to a call, and he was there to investigate, and there was probably music and noise, and he was probably expecting trouble. In situations like this, it is understandable that he reacted that way to what he perceived as serious threat.

He was either terrified or homicidal. IT matters not to you, because you'd excuse ANYTHING a cop does.

It was late at night. I'm not interested in your "probably and maybe" excuses. He is going to prison where he belongs.

No. He belongs nailed to a cross.

I see that I have just defeated your little female canine anus using logic and superior argument.

Better get used to it, its gonna happen again.

You're having delusions of grandeur.

I know an ass kisser like you will say that he should get away with it, so that maybe white folks will pat your dumbass on the head.
Of course, to you, everything is about race. When a minority is not hating white people properly like he should, he is being some type of ass-kissing toadie. It never occurs to you that some people actually care about justice.

You've proven you just go along to get along.

Justice, what's that? All we have ever seen is Just Us. Why is it black folks have always been on the unjust end of Justice.
Dude what are you even crying about? All I am saying is that you cannot put someone in jail on a murder charge, just because he is white and the person he killed is black.

How many times has that happened in America?
I don't care. It still does not prove that this cop had the intention to murder.

You seem to think that just because racism is alive and well in the States, which I admit it is, that it now means all white people want to murder black people. This is false.

You don't know what the hell his intentions were, you just want to justify him murdering a black man.

We have seen this too many times when it comes to overseers........I mean officers and black men.
