Actually many people did. But Trump had to rebuild the military that DumBama allowed to dwindle, so it was less of an issue because the defense of our country is outlined in the US Constitution, cash for clunkers is not.

Like I said, the President doesn't spend the money, but he can stop a spending bill on his desk. If you don't give him at least some of what he wants, he won't sign it.

Obama had the slowest recovery since WWII. He's been the most anti-business president we've ever had in modern times so you can't give him too much credit for job creation. Trump on the other hand lowered their taxes, he instituted a policy that for every new business regulation made, two had to be removed in it's place. He removed the Commie Care requirements and fines.

Businesses in general believed they had a friend in the White House, and that kind of confidence inspires businesses to make investments and expand their operations which in turn creates jobs.
