I did over 400k over the last 5 months I was stationed there.I know Heilbronn and the Kätchen of Heilbronn well
Yes, i also like to go the bakery .... for Brezel or a Rosinenweck.I did over 400k over the last 5 months I was stationed there.
I liked the way there was always something to do in Germany....and a lot of it involved walking in parks and forests.
I went to several winefests and beerfests.
The food was always the best and the healthiest.
Germans aren't known for their coffee but it's really good.
But my favorite thing was going to the bakery.
They make some really delicious cakes and deserts. Black Forest Cake. Bee Sting Cake. Yummy.
I also remember Kaufland in Heilbronn. Several floors where they sold just about everything imaginable.Yes, i also like to go the bakery .... for Brezel or a Rosinenweck.![]()
Dad was stationed in Germany, I spent a year there, dad hated the command so much he volunteered to return to Viet Nam.

Best duty I ever had. The command sucked ass. That bad, huh?
Very interesting! I also was employed (as a civilian) at RAF Gatow. In town I was fond of Currywurst and Kartoffelpuffer but at the NAAFI I ate poached eggs on toast every day. What I really didn't like was the smoked eel at the Kantina once each week.I worked on a RAF air base for two years and liked the Country i acquired a taste for Bratwurst and Pommes frites swilled down with some German beer.

Great stuff, some people bad mouthed German food but some of it was very good, don't think i would like smoked eel, but then again i didn't think i would like raw Herring until a Dutch friend asked me to try it several years ago bought it from a street vendor it was surprisingly good.Very interesting!
