Even the "Economist" prints, "Was Israel a Mistake"

....Oh, no, Geez. Don't do that to us. We're packing right away...

Quite a few Israelis already are, tick...tick...tick.
Yeah I agree the clock is ticking for Hamas. Israel just calling up 16,000 more of its reserves means Israelis are going in for the kill. Shooting rockets at Israelis from schools and hospitals for PR purposes isn't going to stop Israel from finishing the wounded Hamas animals off either.

Kiss your Hamas goodbye.

Do you take Bullshit pills every day?
They had half the land and took part in the Six Day War.
As though the rest of the region, comprised of the SAME people, is a slice of heaven.
Doesn't matter. It's illegal to hold onto land seized in a war.

That refers to land seized from another country and, as we both know (but only I admit), there is not (nor has there ever been) a Palestinian state.

Well, "Wrong again Rude-e" the 16,000 reservists called up are only to replace those who have been at the front for too long, and need to be sent home for a rest, clearly murdering women and children can tire out even IDF thugs.

Anyway as it's 1st August today I'm reminded of another historic moment, the Warsaw uprising of 1944 started today, an event that bears striking similarities with what's going on in Gaza today.

They fought in tunnels and sewers:

warsaw-uprising-memorial-1944-warsaw-poland+1152_12858765686-tpfil02aw-11592.jpg

Their children fought alongside them:

220px-Pomnik_Malego_Powstanca.JPG

They fought for their dignity and freedom against an overwhelmingly powerful, brutal, repressive and murderous regime.

Warsaw 1944 - Gaza 2014 --plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

They may very well lose this battle but the gallant stand the Palestinian Resistance is making in Gaza will doubtless inspire generations of Muslims to come, both inside and outside of Palestine. As the saying goes, they will be Legion and they will have their revenge. Dead or alive, HAMAS has already won this war; that's the real tragedy of this latest pointless massacre of innocents.

Wipe out HAMAS? You get ISIS or ISLAMIC JIHAD or whoever next steps up to the plate. Jihadist recruiting offices are already overflowing with eager new recruits awaiting their chance to be martyrs and taking as many Zionists with them when they go.

Dream on, Jordan had sovereignty over the area before 1967, and only relinquished it's claim in favour of the PLO as part of the now defunct Oslo peace process. Palestine is a soveriegn state under Zionist occupation and is recognised as such by at least as many countries as recognise Zionist Israel, if not more.

Hoda Tawfik from the Al Ahram, attending a ME Insight symposium in Washington on May 4, 1998, asked James Baker:
"What do you think is right? That these are occupied Arab territories and not disputed territories?"
James Baker:
"They're clearly disputed territories. That's what Resolutions 242 and 338 are all about. They are clearly disputed territories."
Funny how the UN forgets its own resolutions, isn't it?
As a rule of thumb, if that annoys Israel, a dog pound will be recognized as sovereign state.

...Where is the Arab protection of the citizens of Gaza? Lots of Arab countries do not like Hamas.

Lots of GAZANS don't like the goals and plans of Hamas. It's just that they hate Jews MORE than Hamas.

More civilians killed every week for 2 years now in Syria.. Now in Libya, Now in Iraq. Soon all over the MidEast. Israel is just being used as a tool in Arab on Arab warfare..

OK let's look at the Arab League:
Lebanon- Far to unstable to be of any use although Hezbullah did shoot a few fireworks over the border, most of it's combat troops are helping out in Syria.
Syria- totally helpless to intervene even if it wanted to- civil war financed by Saudi Arabia and USA
Jordan- Bought and paid for by USA with some residual influence fron the UK. King Abdullah is not going to rock the boat and risk a spanking by the American ambassador in his own throne room.
Iraq- Failed state courtesy of the USA not going to be a player until ISIS has either taken over or has been wiped out.
Saudi Arabia- Bought and paid for by USA too much to lose going up against US objectives in the ME.
Egypt- Bought and paid for by USA?Saudi Arabia; the "dictator du jour" Sissi hates the Muslim Brotherhood in particular and Palestinians in general, so won't lift a finger to help HAMAS or Gaza unless US/Saudi Arabia tell him to.
Libya- failed state courtesy of USA/NATO too busy tearing itself apart to worry about a bunch of oppressed Palestinians being butchered by Zionists.
The rest- too far away, too insignificant, or in the pockets of any of the larger players in the region or the USA.

American unconditional support for Zionist Israel is the root cause for most, if not all, this instability and bloodshed in the ME today. HAMAS is just another symptom and will be quickly replaced if Zionist Israel wipes them out. Incidentally HAMAS doesn't hate Jews, never has. It hates the Zionist occupiers of Palestine, who just happen to be Jewish. There is a difference. :D

And me thought it's pre-imperialist nationalist societies around Israel, blaming their inadequacies on it.
Bth., did they put that "Hamas With A Smiley" campaign out?

You have the right to be wrong, and you are in fact wrong. There is no state of Palestine. And if the people there don't stop their murdering and slaughtering of children in the name of Palestine, there never will be, and shouldn't be.

I support Israel wiping them all out, and making both part of Israel completely.

Little by little. On small step at a time.

Like the small steps being taken in Europe to eradicate the muslims, first laws against face coverings next laws against praying in the street and finally laws against practising islam.

Billo_Really; et al,

That is a good issue; the demonization of the foe (to represent the Palestinian as evil or diabolic).

Let's look at that.

Are you denying the Israeli's demonize the Palestinian's 24/7?

Are you denying any violence against the Pals, no matter how horrific, is acceptable?

Are you denying Israel is trying to ethnically cleanse the Palestinian's from the area?

Is that what you're saying?
(OBSERVATIONS)

Demonizing the Enemy a Hallmark of War said:
Propaganda, both by governments and the private media, has evolved over the years as media has evolved. But, some say, the principle remains the same.

"The secret in propaganda is that when you demonize, you dehumanize," said James Forsher, a film historian and documentary filmmaker who has studied propaganda films, and who is an assistant professor of mass communications at California State University, Hayward.

"When you dehumanize, it allows you to kill your enemy and no longer feel guilty about it," he said. "That is why during World War II, a lot of caricatures became animals. … You can kill a monkey a lot more easily than you can kill a neighbor."

SOURCE: ABC News, Jan. 29, 2003 By MICHAEL S. JAMES

(A POINT OF VIEW)

"I think the demonization of Islam and the Arab world is identical to what happened 100 years ago," Jay Winter said (a Yale University history professor whose specialty is World War I). "The Arab is now a stock figure, a caricature, a symbol of fanaticism, of infinite cruelty and no regard for human rights."

(SIDEBAR)

As some of you may remember, no so long ago I was called-to-task in the group to explain myself on the phrase "Hostile Arab Palestine" (HoAP); as opposed to the phrase non-Hostile Arab Palestinian (nHoAP). The use of HoAP (a subset of Palestinians) was to insure that my thoughts and expressions were not all culturally blanketing. When I referred to the HoAP (as a subset of Palestinians) as terrorists, I was not lumping in the subset of nHoAP (not all Palestinians are terrorists).

To say that the Palestinians in the subset belonging to the following are terrorist, is not to say that all Palestinians are terrorists (as defined by EU COUNCIL DECISION 2014/72/CFSP of 10 February 2014:

 • ‘Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade’.
 • ‘Al-Aqsa e.V.’
 • ‘Hamas’, including ‘Hamas-Izz al-Din al-Qassem’.
 • ‘Palestinian Islamic Jihad’ – ‘PIJ’.
 • ‘Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine’ – ‘PFLP’.
 • ‘Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command’ (a.k.a. ‘PFLP – General Command’).

And to say that Palestinians that proved organizational assistance, instigating activities for, facilitate the operations, participating in their operations, financing, and encouraging or tolerating their activities ARE terrorist supporting Arabs (A/RES/60/288). That is not demonization; just a simple set of facts.

(COMMENTS)

Demonization is something different done for a special purpose. The something different is the material is not representative of the factual ground truth or reality. Calling Jews a "NAZI" is much different that calling HAMAS a "Jihadist." It would be damn difficult to find a NAZI Jew; therefore it is not representative of the facts or the ground truth. On the other hand, finding a Jihadist in a room full of HAMAS is easy; - they are all Jihadist by oath of the Covenant. The entire Islamic Resistance Movement are Jihadist of one sort or another.

The use of Fake Atrocities and Propaganda Films, or the over dramatization of an inadvertent event, is another form of demonization. Most recently the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (Navi Pillay) was running up and down the hallways, beating the drum, after News Report of a UNRWA school being struck by Israeli Artillery, come to find out that true story was somewhat different. In this case, effective Palestinian demonization of the Israeli created the environment that the dim witted High Commissioner immediately blamed Israel and called for a War Crimes investigation. There was no recent mention of an investigation into Palestinian War Crimes.

We should be very careful when we use propaganda adopted inferences and phrases.

You should not say: Ceterum censeo Hamasinem esse delendam! (HAMAS must --- is fit to be --- should be destroyed!) It is a form of demonization for the educated, popularized in the Roman Senate.

Most Respectfully,
R

Gee Whiz.. I missed the part where the Warsaw Ghetto had an elected govt and got International Aid for Development. Also missed the part where the Germans HAD to lock them up because of the military actions and violent threats from the Jews on German soil.. Or the times the Jews continuously dismissed ceasefires offered by the Nazis. OR even the total lack of Nazi presence within the Ghetto when tensions were reduced..

You look pretty silly stretching and kvetching for Hamas that far.. All that drama really helps some cause somewhere. For the rest of world --- it smells of desperation..

You are excusing a terrorist govt that PURGED the losing party in an election.. And hasn't seen any indication of democracy since.. Not high on the list of priorities for a tyranny...

Funny what impresses some folks. There's 70,000 Likes on a Facebook page for a group of Gazan Students who believe Hamas is a MISTAKE for Gaza.. Does that mean FACEBOOK is anti-Palestinian?

“WAS Israel all a mistake?” asks a lawyer at a debate on the Gazan war in a grand Georgian library in Manchester. None of the 40 or so professionals present says no.....

“Tesco: We’ve axed fruit from Israel,” ran a headline about the British supermarket chain in the Irish Sun on July 27th..."

"Younger Americans are far likelier than older ones to say Israel is more responsible than Hamas for the fighting in Gaza. A recent Gallup poll found a majority of those under 30 thought Israel’s actions in Gaza unjustified"

Israel and the world: Us and them | The Economist

Wait, hold up, stop the presses, your telling me a article used a provocative first sentence of an article to grab the reader's attention and entice them to continue reading the rest of the article! Damn that is never happened before. I hope the other news sources are taking note so they can get more people to read their articles!

This type of journalism might revolutionize the industry...wait hold up again, I was just told this tactic has been used for generations, it's as old as journalism.

Please carry on.

I think you just made my point. Israel is simply being played as tool by the Arabs who hate other Arabs only slightly less than Jews.. But Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt in PARTICULAR have solid REASONS to be unmoved by Palestinian distress and need.. They have had to throttle down on them within their OWN borders. Even expel them or wash their hands of the problem. Gazans were doing fine KILLING EACH OTHER when Israel ended it's occupation there. And all the Hamas supporters here need to realize that Israel is not the only entity abusing and misusing these people.

You will see Israel make Hamas in Gaza irrelevant. To the joy and satisfaction of MOST of the UNSTABLE ARab leaderships. And the negotiation will be with trustworthy, internationally cognizant Pali leaders.. NOT a proxy for the KILLING and INSURRECTION that is sweeping the Arab MidEast..

Israel has treated the Palestinian's like garbage for the last 47 years. There are a lot of similarities between Israel now and Nazi Germany during the 10 years prior to the Holocaust. The ramping up of hatred. The acceptance of violence. The constant state-sponsored propaganda. Israeli-Nazis are a definite reality.

If you want to talk about terrorists, you have no further to look than the Likud Party, whose roots are with Irgun, a Jewish terrorist group.
