Erika Kirk Isn't Pushing For The Death Penalty

However, while Snopes identified online fundraisers that raised millions of dollars to support Erika Kirk and her children, we found no evidence she set them up herself.

Oh yeah, I missed that part before.

I'm not sure why. Aren't all us Christians supposed to be in favor of the law of our land/ the government? Romans 13:1-2 and Leviticus 25:18

Widow Kirk should not even be asked about the death penalty.

Good men and women can see that a peace-living, law-abiding family man was murdered in cold blood by a vile hate-filled punk who will be a burden on the rest of uscas long as he draws breath instead of sulpher fumes.

He should have his fair trial, and once guilt is proven, get the needle forthwith.

Erika has no obligation other than to set the example of Christian grief for her children.

She is letting go of anger and deferring to the state of Utah. I respect her wishes.

That's okay for her but why condemn the penalty itself?

Meh....I just think you are weak and weak is not good for the gene pool.

If I was weak I would have put you on ignore and or left this message board by now. I just have different opinions than you sometimes. It happens!

It's not her decision but her victim statement could have a real impact.

As it were, I used to be enraged and supportive of the death penalty. I have since changed for a number of reasons.

Ultimately it doesn't matter. He won't kill again and nothing will bring her husband back. Will this satisfy some reptilian part of the brain? I suppose. I've heard many family members who lost loved ones in murder of all kinds as I have watched many crime documentaries, I'd say 80% of them echo the sentiment I just did, sometimes expressing indifference even in the depths of their sorrow "it's not going to be bring him/her back so...".

Everyone responds their own way, I probably wouldn't be so forgiving, not this quickly at least. She definitely has a good heart if she takes this position and it is what her faith demands really.
