I absolutely love this question!

So what about you? Do you a butter knife and surgically remove every last molecule of peanut butter from the jar? I do.....
Not sure if that makes me frugal, wise or silly.

Lol

The only thing I use peanut butter for is making suet feeders for the birds. Haven't used half of the jar that I bought three years ago.

I can't eat peanuts, and MAN, I miss peanut butter on toast!

Ahhhh..... So sorry to hear about that.
Have you tried any of the nut butter alternatives?

I let the last half inch sorta dry up in the jar, so it isn't sticky, for mouse trap bait. I roll it into a marble sized ball and place it on the 'trigger' in such a way that the mouse has to step on the trigger to get at it. I also tape the trap to a piece of paper to keep the mouse from dragging it under the frig.

Quick question on that...
When you bait the trap are you careful not to get any human scent on it?
My scent has never discouraged the mice from going for the peanut butter. I keep a trap baited at all times. The mice go for it even when it's month's old. However, when I catch a mouse, I ditch the whole thing and bait a new trap.

I just soak it with dawn to clean out the jar to recycle once a spoon doesn't cut getting me enough, HOWEVER, I am kind of like that when it comes to liquid laundry detergent. I will upside down that jug until I get every drop and then I will flush it with water and dump into machine several times before I finally toss it.

Just in case, I use gloves. Have the gloves around anyway because I make suet seed cakes for the birds with capsicum, to keep the squirrels away. No way I want to rub my eyes with capsicum on my hands!
