I let the last half inch sorta dry up in the jar, so it isn't sticky, for mouse trap bait. I roll it into a marble sized ball and place it on the 'trigger' in such a way that the mouse has to step on the trigger to get at it. I also tape the trap to a piece of paper to keep the mouse from dragging it under the frig.

I set my traps inside a plastic disposable grocery bag. Once it's sprung with a dead mouse, you just big it up by the handles, tie it up and throw it away.
