Elon Musk Vs. Bernie

Tesla CEO Elon Musk brushed off Sen. Bernie Sanders's demands that the wealthy "pay their fair share" in his latest back-and-forth with the self-described democratic socialist.
"I keep forgetting that you’re still alive," Musk tweeted at Sanders Sunday morning.
The tweet came in response to Sanders saying on Twitter Saturday that, "We must demand that the extremely wealthy pay their fair share. Period."
Musk has a net worth of about $294 billion.

Exactly what is Elon's "fair share"? Did he not pay any tax while accumulating that $300B? Let's say he just says fuck it, writes a check for the whole fuckin amount and spends the rest of his life in a card board box under Interstate 35. This government would piss that money away before the fuckin ink was dry. These ass fucking political whores waste on average $4T dollars a year, not counting the DEMPANIC, and since "The War on Poverty" have dumped...

What is it now?

$50 TRILLION GODDAMNED DOLLARS INTO "eliminating poverty" and what is the result? Literally the same 14% poverty, more homeless people than you can count, the cities are in ruins and crime has exploded.

Except that our people who live in "poverty" other that the homeless have SUV's, TV's, HVAC, designer clothes, cell phones and are so fuckin fat they ride scooters while wasting food stamps on carts full of
Doritos, Oreo's and Soda.

Go to places like the Philippines and see some poverty that will give you nightmares.

Even some of these homeless people we have are living better than 3rd world people with jobs.

Now I'm not an Elon Musk sycophant, he made a lot of money because of the climate hoax, and fuck tons of government waste that bought his stupid electric cars. Yet he turned that into some pretty incredible shit. You've got to give the guy some credit. He's also not sucking up to leftist parasites, in fact he seems pretty libertarian IMO.

.

LOL bernie getting to him, eh?

Yes, in typical Democratic fashion. They want someone else to foot the bill for their economic irresponsibility.
Do you somehow magically think Rs are good at balancing the budget?

Nope, it's not about deductions, it's about the loopholes available to mega rich like Musk, not Congressmen usually.

He doesn't take salary, he keeps stock and takes loans from his companies to pay for his expenses, which is not taxed.

Basically problem comes down to how flexible the super rich are with the types of assets they hold and earn. It's not simple to tax them, but if there is a will, there is absolutely a way.
Lol. Again it is the law as written. I understand you somehow think that they are skirting the law. They are not.

Nope, not what you said.

You NOT ONLY said it was written, you said it was written to minimize tax liabilities for Congressmen and that Musk is now using these laws to pay almost nothing.

But thats wrong, Musk's taxation minimizing strategy has little to do with finances of Congressmen.

Congress can pass laws to address these income loopholes and thats what Bernie is talking about.

You need a better ability to read and understand plus even a passing knowledge of tax laws would help. He is doing nothing wrong. He is doing everything legally and according to the laws as written. Congress writes those laws. Musk did not write them. In fact most of those laws were written before he was able to use them.
Bernie has no clue what he is talking about. Never has. He is only yelling about things that uninformed people will latch onto. The popular term now is dog whistle.
what part of tax someone more then you pay more is creating a problem for you?

No sir, YOU DO.

Where did I say Musk is doing something wrong or illegal in this thread?

The laws are written and Congress can write more, which is what Bernie is advocating, not sure what your objection is.

The objection is they are not going to write more. You seem to have a problem understanding that if someone like Musk ends up paying more everyone will pay more for products like Tesla because he is not going to go broke.
Bernie is just saying things that he hopes people will believe and re-elect him for. He nor anyone else in congress has put forward anything to change the laws.
I could say that government can write a law to change the color of the atmosphere that does not mean they are going to do it or it will matter.

How about at least 10%? That's about half the rate of what middle class pays.

Doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

In 2020, Tesla made $690M in profit and paid $292M in income taxes.

Lol wtf? Elon Musk doesn't personally own Tesla.

Pure nonsense, of course Congress will write laws from time to time, it's what they do.

And this idea that super rich can never be taxed, or everything will turn bad is ABSURD. Yes they can be taxed just like you and me - it will be a-ok, don't be such a dupe. Billionare Musk is not going broke just because he gawd forbid pay something not completely laughable in taxes.

No. they spend too much money too. The difference is the lesser of two evils. Allowing people to keep more of their money vs taking from those that make it and encouraging people not to work. Since neither pay for their spending, which option is better?

You are just being absurd here. Show me any tax code being proposed or voted in in congress right now. You can not because nothing is even in the works.
Have you any clue. Those that have money do not want the tax code changed that includes those in congress.
I never claimed anything will turn bad. Damn make things up much. I simply stated that if companies are taxed more then they will make that up by raiding prices.
Musk uses the same tax code that everyone uses. You, me, congress, companies. To tax Musk more you would have to tax others more. Tax laws can not single out one or two individuals. Those things that you pretend are loopholes are meant to help companies offset losses and growth.

I thought that way too years ago, but no more. The two parties are essentially the same.

You know, you'd catch a lot less eggs with your face if you would just take two seconds to google the topic before making comments like this.

Actually read what is being talked about and what is actually going on instead of a lopsided snippet

You call yourself a libertarian with a straight face?
You need to realize the billionaires pay little to nothing in income tax. This is wrong because people with very little income pay higher percentages. Secondly, you must know enormous wealth in our corrupt country means you have enormous political power. This too is wrong.
