Well...

Once again, the EV world goes up in flames...

Batteries are to blame. Brand new scooters go up in flames and kill 8 people while injuring 11 others. They were unused and just sitting there. These lithium batteries are breaking down before they can be sold and exploding. EV cars, Ev Scooter, EV busses, all having the same problem with battery degradation...

Or as the cites says, it also could have been an electric generator. It's not being reported as to either one so I can only guess that it wasn't the electric scooter or that would have been plastered all over the place instead of your ultra rightwing MAGA Domestic Terrorist and Traitor site.

The fire department said it was still under investigation, but the batteries are suspected due to the damage and explosive nature of the fire. 300 VDC shorted out blows up...

Nothing to gloat about. The guy was just trying to make a living. Maybe there were other issues.
They were brand new from the factory. They were using the standard chargers to charge the batteries. First time charge. Not looking good for the manufacture. Then we look at all the busses that blow up within 30 days of purchase. Story after story about this in the news. They already have a history and it's not looking good long term.

Analysts from AutoInsuranceEZ examined data from the National Transportation Safety Board to track the number of car fires and compared it to sales data from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics.

The result? Hybrid-powered cars were involved in about 3,475 fires per every 100,000 sold. Gasoline-powered cars, about 1,530. Electric vehicles (EVs) saw just 25 fires per 100,000 sold.

There is some logic to the results. After all, gasoline-powered cars depend on combustion to move. The energy transfer electric cars use to move doesn’t involve anything burning.

Gas powered vehicles catch fire over 10 times more often than electric vehicles.
Proof-?

Sounds like them hybrids is mo' dangerous.

But 24V 7AH (which that is what they are) doesn't do a whole lot of anything unless you store them with the full gas cans or the TNT. Are you aware of the size of a 300DC battery looks like? Or how much it weighs? Damn, Sam, look things up and use your noggin before you post.

After impact. How many ICE vehicles spontaneously combust?

You are using the word "spontaneously". It has no meaning here. Either it combusted due to impact or it didn't. Even if the impact may not be the reason, it has to combust to be counted as combusted. We have quite a few EVs around here because we don't have a recharging problem and we have had ZERO blow up or ignite. Although, I did have on cell phone start to heat up until I removed the battery from the case. Come to find out, it wasn't the battery causing it, it was the phone short circuiting which was short circuiting the phones battery. Should I have kept using it even if it was uncomfortable to be in my pocket due to the heat?

Not sitting in the garage doing nothing...

Funny you should bring that up. We just had an RV parked for many years go up. And a 30foot RV going up makes any EV or ICE car look like a camp fire. So don't say that gas fires don't happen when the vehicle just sits there.

Can’t wait for the electric airplanes.

Afraid you are going to have to. Right now, the EPs have caught up to the light planes. And one model promises to handle commuter service for up to 8 people. But that's about as far as it goes right now. The Batteries are coming along but have a very long way to go to take up short haul airline service or even cross country.
