The "times two" rule has been in effect for over 30 years.
What should infuriate all Americans who have functioning brains are these FACTS:
1. Roughly 350,000-400,000 people PER WEEK are filing for FIRST-TIME unemployment benefits.
2. People who have exhausted their 99 weeks of unemployment benefits are no longer counted as being "unemployed", even though they have not been called back to work at their old job, or have found a new job. These millions of unemployed people have ceased to exist, from a "statistical" point of view.
3. People working a part-time job or jobs, because they can't find a full-time job, are not counted as "unemployed".
4. People who are UNDER-employed (i.e. people with Master's Degrees flipping burgers at McDonald's or pouring coffee at Dunkin' Donuts) are counted as being "employed".
5. "Job creation" statistics do not differentiate between people being hired for NEW jobs and people being called back to work after a layoff.
6. Job QUALITY (hourly pay, health insurance benefits, 401K participation, etc.) is not considered in the "job creation" statistics.
7. Government unemployment/employment statistics "gathering" are limited to the polling of selected companies and corporations, much like the TV Nielson ratings.
