Election Reform and the Spoiler Effect

Current Vice President vs. Past President?

Harris is just fine. She's accomplished more in her life than you ever will.

Trump, frankly, if it weren't for his personality, and the awful things he does, would be somewhat accomplished.

Meanwhile, let's look who the Libertard Party is putting up this year.

Chase Oliver... someone who has never won an election.
And still, far more sane, moral and intelligent than anyone your two parties can come up with.

Far more than the guy whose only accomplishment in life has been screaming at city council meetings.
Sure man. You go with that. You must be proud. Reality show assclown vs DEI poster child. Cream of the crop. The two-party system's crowning achievement.

Wow, so you are racist on top of everything else? DEI is the new N-word.

Harris didn't get promoted by DEI, she got promoted because she WON ELECTIONS - as DA, State's Attorney, Senator, Vice-President, and God Willing, President.

As for Trump. Yes, the man was born on third base and thought he hit a triple, but he also runs a multi-billion dollar corporation, and took over a major party.

Meanwhile, your boy Chase. He's the generation that got one of these.

According to you? Go fuck yourself.

Clearly you admire him. Bigly.

Well, you've made yourself clear when it comes to election reform: protect the two party system at all costs. The two parties agree.

Nope, I think that was your first go-to on criticizing her, which says a lot more about you than it does her. Ignore the fact that she's won multiple elections, (Primary and general), she must have gotten there because of "Affirmative Action", the cry of every white male loser who has failed to succeed in life despite privilege.

Hardly. Here's the thing. Trump seriously considered running as the Reform Party Candidate in 2000. Then he had the good sense to realize that third parties are a joke. He realized he could hijack the GOP when Mitt Romney kissed his ring in 2012 on the birther nonsense. Trump is the GOP in its terminal stage.

The two party system isn't in any danger, at least not from third parties getting participation trophies through RCV. The bigger danger I see is that the Republican party becomes a fringe party of kooks. and we get one-party rule for a generation.

This is why Democrats are losing.

The two party system is a pathetic failure. It remains to be see whether the partisans will take the country down with them, or whether democracy can save us from their corruption. I'm working for the latter.

Except they aren't. If Trump wins at all, it will be because of our convoluted electoral college system that gives extra votes to rural inbreds.

Well, you aren't going to win it with participation trophies. Someone should have explained to you at an early age that you never let the "perfect" be the enemy of the good.

Do you vote for someone who gives you 100% of what you want, but has no chance of getting elected or effectively governing?,

Or do you vote for a guy who gets you 70% of what you want, but has a good chance of winning and has the deep bench of support to effectively run the country?

This isn't complicated. Grownups understand this. Libertarian Children do not.

Lesser-of-two-evils is a scam, cooked up by the duopoly to keep the sheep in line. RCV does away with that lame excuse, which is why you don't like it. Too bad. It's happening.

Actually, it does nothing of the sort. The last two are ALWAYS members of the "Duopoly" as you like to say. Usually, all the candidates are.

The problem with third parties is that they are fringe characters who couldn't govern even if they got elected.

Tell you what, get elected to a few county seats, a few state legislatures, and prove yourself.

But don't demand that RCV give you a participation trophy.

The two parties agree! We should only be allowed to vote for the two parties.

No, instead you get a convoluted system no one understands.
If it's too hard for you, maybe you're not smart enough to be voting in the first place.

Nobody is keeping you fringe loons off the ballot.

I think they should actually raise the standards. Like requiring a LOT of signatures to get on the ballot. No more fringe characters inside or outside the party.

I'm sure you do. You're a loyal party member!

Nope. I shouldn't have to spend more than 1 second deciding who I am voting for.
And I'm sure you don't. But others are more thoughtful, and they're fed up with your shitshow.
