Education Secretary Linda McMahon announces mass layoffs at Dept. of Education - 50% of workforce

Why are you talking about the subject, if you don’t have a clue what they do? Do some research! Simply watching FOX isn’t research.
I'm asking you cause you claimed they did things, name something. You can't, makes you look weak and weaker with that last response, you threw in the towel. audios DOE

If I understand you correctly, you're admitting that the US Department of Education has been totally worthless and should be handled at the state level.

No you don't understand, which is no suprise.

State Legislatures and Local School Board control schools and curriculums.

DOE provides (on average) about 10% funding for additional teachers K-12, Accommodations to disabled students K-12, they also fund Pell Grants and administer the Federal Student Loan Program.

They are far from useless.

But axe ED, my kids are grown and out of school, so feel free to FAFO.

It makes you look stupid to say they don’t do anything, just because some talking head said so.

well, I wish people like you who get so fking worked up on things people don't know enough of, you come in and show you are as stupid. Jimmy Carter created the DOE as appreciation for Teacher Union support. the receipt

Why Do We Have a Department of Education? Jimmy Carter's Debt to a Teachers Union.

Public education existed well before 1980, but an unpopular President Carter wanted the nation's largest union on his side before an election.

Nice opinion piece. I am sure that is a possible valid reason, but teacher unions had little power back then outside political endorsements. The fact is that the law was passed by Congress over two years after it was promised. Why the delay if it was so important?

Were you an adult in 1980? I was and having just graduated high school in 1978. I was attending college at the time in the fall of 1979. I didn't just read this. I lived it.

In 1980, NYC and LA did not have their woke curriculums. Their initial aim was to repair schools in the Deep South ravaged by racist Democrats. I was attending college in Alabama at the time. Things were so bad, our black student population consisted of mostly those on athletic scholarships because most black students were so poorly educated, they could not pass the tests to get in. Today, that is quite different as the student body is quite diverse.

I don't appreciate your arrogance based on your own ignorance.

Once again

**** off.

nope, it's obvious you didn't listen to the video I sent you. color me shocked. You are a fking stupid fk. No help for you, you are the beaten dead horse.

Teacher unions had even less power back then than they had when I was a member in the early 2000s. You are simply full of shit and can't even get the abbreviation correct.
teacher unions do nothing for children. Not a damn thing. They strike taking kids away from learning. How sad are those mthr fkers?

Americans are threatened by corrupt Bureaucrats that spend a bloated $298B annually in the name of education and get the following results:

  • America- Bottom ranked in math and reading proficiency among industrialized nations
  • School bullying is up
  • Student on Teacher violence is up

What is DoEd accomplishing with all of that money?
Money doesn't solve social issues. How does throwing money at bullying work exactly? If you know, please tell someone because no one else seems to know.

so why is there a DOE?

To help fund poor schools and that money helps pay for additional teachers and supplies.

To help fund a SPED student and that money helps fund programs for disabled students.

To assist poor and middle class students with Pell Grants to help them go to college or trade school.

To assist students and families with Federally subsidized Student Loan to help them go to college or trade school.

Then there are some other things with grants for school security to help against mass shootings, and as a national repository for education data at the primary, secondary, and post secondary levels.

why do demofks and rinos always say it will? Why does america need so many administrators who can't complete a five bullet email request? We all provide weekly reports with more than that. But those bureaucrats are too good for americans.

True that

The teacher’s unions exist to protect teachers not children

prove it post a receipt. ex congressman Ford couldn't, had to concede the department of agriculture actually gives them funding for breakfasts. so prove it. I watched an ex congressman who couldn't name any. but you can? hahahahaahahahaha hey Pinocchio, your nose grew again.

I attended college and been at the same job now for 48 years.
So you were not involved in education is any way shape or form in 1979.

Graduated from where, as in location? Was it as a poor black child in western Alabama? I have s story to tell you about my experience with education when I was a recruiting manager for the Navy in Alabama. If you know anything about the ASVAB test, it will curl your hair!

Doesn't 48 years get boring? In my life, I have rarely worked somewhere more than 3 years. I did work as a classroom teacher at one school in Florida for 8 years, but that was the exception, and I was promoted out of that job.

Unless you are a parent in poor schools and that money helps pay for additional teachers and supplies.

Unless you are a parent of a SPED student and that money helps fund programs for disabled students.

Unless you are a student looking to get a Pell Grand to help you go to college or trade school.

Unless you are a student looking to get a Federally subsidized Student Loan to help you go to college or trade school.

Ya, axing $298B is a nice fix.

WW
Federal subsidized student loans are not part of the $298B budget. Please stop with the poor school district and SPED plights. These cases are used to get more funding. Put it to you this way, if the egregious chunks of budgets weren’t going to fund Unions’ donations to the Democrat Party, the DoED wouldn’t be on the chopping block.

teacher unions do nothing for children. Not a damn thing. They strike taking kids away from learning. How sad are those mthr fkers?

They aren't created or designed to anything for children.
All unions represent their dues paying members.

When you get to the point of asking for "receipts", I know you have been beaten into submission.

There are 12,546 different school districts in the US. You want a "receipt", call you local school system and as them for a link to their budget book for the current school year. They will gladly tell you how to access it online.

Then take a look at how much revenue comes from local sources, state sources, and ED sources. Then see what programs are supported and how much as an overall percentage of YOUR schools funding it is.

I know for our school system its about 9%.
