Edison, NJ City Council ejects citizen for holding American flag during meeting

Not going to be a very productive meeting if the actual people meeting can't talk. Its an interesting strategy I must say.
It sure would, if the meeting is run with the interests of the people at the forefront.

But if you want to know how that happens, then go do some homework.

I've run meetings with people who had absolute opposite views on the topic at hand and it went smoothly and I didn't have to step on anyone toes.

But then, I don't discriminate again people for petty shit like this.

But you clearly didn't have people just standing there like goobers wasting time.

I clearly know how to run a meeting. I can tell you, petty shit like waving a flag, regardless of what kind of flag, wouldn't have even been on the radar.

This was nothing more than government officials thinking they were Lords and Ladies, and the filth of the commoners was getting to them.

What meeting did you run?

Any display of pro-American beliefs angers the black racists.

Deport those on the Council who sniveled and ejected the American.

He did have a reason, and it doesn't require permission from a fascist **** like you. It's a PUBLIC meeting. This is the very definition of the first amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

It doesn't say "grievances approved by the city council", does it?
Props weren't allowed. He knew that before he stood up.

I watched the video Russobot. He wasn't actually discussing city council business.

Irrelevant. It's a PUBLIC meeting. Citizens don't need to get permission from fascists like you to speak at a public meeting. You'd be more comfortable back home in Russia if that's what you want.

There is already a large flag in the room.
Why should a citizen need to wave a flag during the proceedings?
Should he be allowed to wave a 10 foot flag?
A TRUMP flag?
A Confederate flag?
He was not doing those. Logic fail.

These fascists need to be checked at every move, to make sure the little Hitlers don't overstep.

Ideally, people like this should never have access to levers of power in any government setting, no matter how small.

We should NEVER allow people like this City Council member to feel comfortable or safe violating a citizen's civil rights like this.

Damn, it was the only US flag in the freaking room. How pathetic is that?

.

Asshole foreigner, here to line his pockets, is all.

Former Councilwoman Joyce Ship Freeman said she was “highly offended” that the Constitution of America “was treated in that manner.” Ship Freeman called the situation and ordinance “an embarrassment throughout the whole state.”
In fact, several residents expressed their displeasure that the American flag and Constitution were labeled as props.

Although the ordinance does not explicitly ban the American flag or the Constitution, Patel told residents that when a flag or the Constitution is used "performatively" it can be considered a prop.

Deport him and the other creeps. Only two on the Council voted against the ban; one of those was absent at the time of this meeting.
