Trump could have denied the claim and it would not have been defamation
But he engaged in personal attacks which led to defamation

What personal attack? He just denied her claims, said she was lying. Perhaps if she didn't want to incur that, she shouldn't have brought a case she couldn't prove. She defamed herself by making allegations she couldn't back up.

Again, trump needs to sue her for defamation as well. Force her to prove her case or pay the penalty.

This case was by from the get go, from the law that was passed to allow something from decades ago to revive the statutes of limitations, which was awfully convenient according to the timing of all of this.
