Great, great article about the different styles of the two presidential candidates-- a note about the proposed idea of Bush winning with 'style rather than substance': most people in the speech-writing and debate community agree with it, but they also agree it doesn't matter.
Another interesting note: Bush slow cadence, and his half-beat pauses before big words...he didn't used to do that! He was apparently a very fluid and informed speaker, handling tough sentences with no problems-- the John Wayne bit? It's a relatively recent development, and has served him very, very well...happy reading.
