I got my motorcycle license last Friday and I bought a Yamaha Xmax 292cc Scooter today and then I went to the DMV and registered it and I got insurance on it.
One of the people here where I live told me to be careful because people around here could hit me.

I said that if anybody hits me, first they're going to jail because i'm pressing charges and then I'm suing them and their insurance company..
so its they who better be careful, because I show their new hampshire ass that their license doesn't say "drive however the hell you want once the trooper gets out and says you passed".

Secondly, my scooter goes up to about 85 mph, that's more than fast enough for any traffic.

She said... "holy shit"... I replied... yeah, holy shit, I actually have rights, holy shit... new hampshire really did go to the dogs...
lol

When a car hits a moped you are lucky if you can get up and retaliate. I'm not sure why you got upset at someone warning you of the dangers today.

I've rode for years and years. Less and less all the time. People not paying attention. People looking right at you and not seeing you.

I wasn't upset at her.

NH state trooper will laugh at your precious little pink "scooter" and let the auto ins. handle it (if the car driver has any).

Two better options:

1) Stop being a "I'll sue you!" little NYC wuss.

2) Buy a real bike and stop puttering around just waiting for the "opportunity" to get hit.

Granite Staters are not going to warm to your ridiculous attitude. I told you so...

they'll warm to the rules of the road or take the fucking bus, granite state boy.
period.
The state trooper's job is to lock em up when I say I press charges for vehicular assault.
"Granite state" doesn't mean shit.
I told you so.

I've been riding motorcycles for sixty years. Still do. You should dump your arrogance first. Open your eyes and keep in mind that every four wheeled conveyance is capable of taking you out -- and because of the size and ability of your moped to move quickly in traffic, you are not easily seen. The best thing you can do for your survival is to stay vigilant and mitigate your risk. Good luck and happy trails.

Why not just buy a real motorcycle instead of a scooter?

its not my job to be a coward, its your job to watch the fuck out and mind the road.
I do my job.
You do yours.

Scooters are inexpensive to operate. They are easy to park and handle. They make really nice short errand vehicles.
