Dow Surges Over 1,000 As Trump Trade Deals Begin To Crush The Legacy Media

Is the stock market the only, or even most important metric we should be paying attention to?

Of course not.

Reshoring manufacturing jobs, lowering prescription drug prices, fostering peace around the globe, securing our own border - and making our military great again are all far more prominent in priority.

However, the Legacy media know it alls planted the goalposts.

And their huge harbinger of doom was that Trump's TRADE WARS (BE AFRAID, PANIC!) - would tank the stock market.

How's that working out?

There are a lot of threads on here from just a month ago that have already aged horribly.

Do they ever, EVER get anything right?

No, they don't.

And yet they never learn.
/----/ In all fairness, CNN did report on the big three stories today. https://www.cnn.com/

He imposed the tariffs he then removed.

Thats called surrender.
/---/ Funny, CNN reports it was mutual, and both sides pulled back the tariffs for 90 days. How is that a surrender? A surrender would be Trump removing the tariffs, and China keeping them as they are. That didn't happen, Spanky.

What we're covering

Trade war breakthrough: The US and China agreed to drastically roll back tariffs on each other’s goods for an initial 90 days, de-escalating a punishing trade war and buoying global markets. By Wednesday, the US will temporarily lower its overall tariffs on Chinese goods from 145% to 30%, while China will cut its levies on American imports from 125% to 10%.

Right, Trump cut the taxes that we would be paying via the tariffs when he surrendered this past weekend.

I appreciate you have a job to do and have to spin his humiliating defeat but you sound like a ******* idiot.

Tariffs are taxes on consumers.

Trump imposed the taxes Americans are now paying, and now he's agreed to temporarily lift SOME of these taxes, while not having achieved any signed agreements whatsoever, and the Cults members here are clapping and cheering like trained seals.

I note that in all cases, the 10% general tariff on all imports remains in place. And that none of these tariff reductions are permanent.

Trump keeps announcing "billions of dollars of investment" in expanding manufacturing in the USA, but nearly all of these dollars were announced when Biden was in office, or are an extension of expansions already under way. More importantly, Trump cancellation of funding under the CHIPS Act, the Infrastructure Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act, has resulted in millions of dollars worth of construction being cancelled as expansions are scaled back or cancelled altogether.

Trump never even acknowledges how many jobs his stupidity has cost, or the loss of confidence in the government.

Why didn’t you ***** about Biden’s tariff increases last year on China, I didn’t see you post a damn thing about them being taxes, you are nothing but an empty enemy of the United States shill.

The current agreement for the next 90 days mean Americans are going to be paying less in tariffs than before and it also means US products in China will be tariffed even less in China than under Biden, it also means it will slow a trade deficit, it will mean the US could sell more goods to China and it keeps inflation down. The tariffs are worse for China, as the United States is China’s number one consumer of Chinese products, so the tariffs negatively impact China’s economy.

So be all emotional and cry over the victory. I will take less inflation, more American jobs, a higher stock market, lower unemployment, a lower trade deficit as Trump caving.

True. What blob supporters can’t escape is that the China/US trade environment is (more or less) the same today after Trump’s defeat as it was under Biden. Supposedly Trump was going to “stick up for American workers” (the same one’s he fucked over for decades). Now the blob supporters have to justify Trump having the same relationship with China on trade that Biden had. I don’t evny them their task.

US stocks surged on Monday after President Donald Trump’s top trade officials brokered a surprisingly dramatic de-escalation in trade tensions with China over the weekend, dropping tariffs to much lower levels, which some economists say could stave off a US recession.

The Dow rose more than 1,000 points, or 2.5%. The broader S&P 500 was 2.85% higher, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite gained 4%.

US stocks were set to erase all their losses since Trump’s April 2 “Liberation Day” trade announcement, which placed a 10% tariff on practically all goods coming into the United States and set significantly higher tariffs on dozens of countries.

Elsewhere, Russia is coming to the negotiation table. First time ever. India and Pakistan have a ceasefire. Tensions are easing in Gaza. Trump flipped hundreds of billions in China trade deal. We have deals with the 5th and 6th economies in the world. Savings of additional hundreds of billions. Investment in America is now in the trillions. Corporate HQs and industry are FLOODING back to the US. DJIA has risen 11 of the past 14 sessions.

If you say you’re being screwed (as Trump said China is doing to us), throw a tantrum and impose sanctions on China only to remove them....That means the blob hasn’t done shit.

That is a surrender.

Are you really this stupid?

No it's a negoiated win. Trump started it, and now China is agreeing to compromise.

If I were, I'd be agreeing with all of your posts.

No it is actually better, than before Trump took office, it will help sell our products over there as they are charge less in tariffs than in 2024 and also we are charging less in tariffs than in 2024 for Chinese products which was the ultimate goal all along. Now they have 90 days to solidify the ground work and help the US economy.

I don’t agree with many Trump policies especially his wanting to cut taxes and he like Biden weaponize g the DOJ but I backed his tariffs because economically China needs us way more than we need them and our tariff agreement with China was terrible, even after Trumps increases in his first term and Biden keeping them and adding to them during his tenure. So all in all this is working out for American as a whole.

Uh…China removed more of their tariffs than we did, that is a win, we are finally getting better breaks than we did before, that is what winning is, you don’t get it all you compromise, maybe that’s why Democrats lose so much, they don’t know how to compromise.

Uh…China removed more of their tariffs than We did

This.

And it appears we are maintaining the 25% tariffs on cars, steel and drugs.

Speaking of drugs, China has also agreed to clamp down on their exportation of fentanyl.

Make no mistake, this is a MAGA win all around.

And The Left, as per usual, just cannot deal.

The surrender is that Trump got nothing in return. China didn't start the trade war, Trump did. Trump got nothing for reducing his tariffs, just a return to something close to the way things were BEFORE Trump started the trade war.

Now I'm seeing Trump has reduced the tariffs on Chinese imports to 30%, and the Chinese have reduced tariffs on US goods - none of which their workers can afford to buy, to 10%.
