So it MUST be the idea that I get Social Security from the government of the United States because of a LAW that was implemented in the 30s, right? What, I should give it BACK to Uncle Sugar so he can squander it on your lazy ass?

You are correct. It DOES take more than one man and one party to destroy America. It takes several generations of apathy from the populace, which gives one man and one party the belief that their time has finally come. In the meantime, America sits at home and watches American Idol.

It's not the apathetic and lazy Monkeys who've screwed the modern economic pooch... mistakes made by us rarely affect the world.

History shows that it takes greedy Monkeys with money and power to **** things up.

In the most recent case, greedy Monkeys are fighting to hold on to their ever growing mess of complicated tax laws and regulations that reduce competition by requiring that players start with enough resources to have a lawyer and an accountant on the payroll.

Obviously, bankrolling BOTH political parties in their fight to hold cash-flow is worth it. It's never been about left and right for the truly greedy.

The results speak for themselves... Left and Right simply must agree that the last 60 years have been very successful in funneling more and more resources in to the control of fewer and fewer people. Math is funny that way.

This isn't the first or the worst time power and resources have been consolidated, and I'll bet anyone $1 that it won't be the last time the economic pendulum swings to the greedy, but - knock on wood - so far in the process, we've lost very little infrastructure in the revolutions of our day in history.

American's are just as at fault in everything that is happening. If a Republican gets elected next time around, he/she will continue with the same policies as George Obama and the American's who voted him/her in will fervently defend everything he/she is doing.

American's are too stupid and/or busy with the latest Kardashian episode to really pay attention to whats happening in this country. For if they did 99.9% of them would be pissed off and hold whoever was in office accountable.

I'm a baby boomer as well and have never taken dime one from the Govt. and never will. I've always worked my ass off and payed my own way and have no love for any of the freeloaders in this country.

If I could I would take every dime I have in SS and Medicare out. I can take care of my money much better than some Clown in DC. The same Clowns in DC who have their own SS system. You will notice they don't raid their system, just ours.

Its to bad LBJ is dead. I'd like to kill that SOB all over again. He's the asshat who put SS in the General Fund and they have been raiding it ever since.

Oh yeah, and it took both parties to get this country in the condition its in. If anyone thinks those Clowns give shit one about them then they are living in la la land.

If the government goes broke, all it would take is a major earthquake to further break the budget. It could happen.

IMO a hurricane wouldn't do it, because we have standard responses for them. A 7+ earthquake within 50 miles of San Francisco will be a critical test. The U.S. has never had to deal with a quake of this nature in modern times.
