Any type donut can be great if it is made well with good ingredients by a capable baker. But my favorite might be chocolate cream filled with a chocolate glazing on top.

I've seen the Maple Bacon Donuts before, but never Toffee Bacon!!!

I like Crullers, too, especially french, as well as anything coconut crusted or glazed with a real, natural lemon or orange glazing.

Other runners up harder to find are coffee-flavored.

Mine has to be the simple maple donut/bar.
I'll never forget the day my Dad brought those home for the first time.
While I love filled donuts like raspberry the maple donut will always be my favorite.
Here in Texas it's always the same thing for me. Ham and cheese Kolaches,Sausage and cheese Kolaches and maple donuts.

One of my granny's had a recipe for fried donuts. The aroma on an early morning drifting through the house was amazing. Her recipe died with her and my mother. My favorite store bought is Krispy Kreme Bavarian cream and the raseberry.

I love chocolate donuts with chocolate frosting on top of them as well. I love glazed too.

I also love the donuts at the Wiegel's gas station that have chocolate frosting on top and cream inside. Bavarian cream may be what's in there.

When I lived in Portland I used to go to a joint called Voodoo Donuts. There used to be just two locations, but they've expanded and can now be found in Florida, Texas and Colorado.

My two favorites were the Maple Bacon Bar and the Old Dirty Bastard:

I don't eat too many donuts but I prefer the old fashioned kind that are more like cake than those puffed up one with no body.
