It takes a minimum of 10 Support Troops, aka; REMFs, to keep one infantryman in the field. It used to be a lot more but our Logistics has improved by leaps and bounds over the decades.

So if you've got 100,000 Soldiers, maybe 9 or 10,000 of them are actual combat troops. Probably less than that if you consider that the rest of the Armed Forces, including the Air Force, Navy and Marines exists solely to support the US Army Infantry. That's gonna piss off some people but it happens to be true.

But we'll go with 10 to 1 in order to keep things simple
