Donald Trump says ‘economic force’ could be used to eliminate ‘artificially drawn’ border between Canada and U.S.

Yes, the Lawfare is the type.of attack Americans instinctively despise. In Canada they would just accpt it, Canandians are.far more docile and obedient to authority. Ultimately though, the economic conditions due to overspending and the open border coupled with a poor.Dem candidate ensured America.would vote for Trump again. That's my take anyway.

I don't think I agree. Americans seem very docile. They have two choices for president and they just accept it.

They get told democracy is in danger because Kamala didn't go through the primary process (I literally got told this by my Mississippi work colleague), without realizing that there isn't much democracy at all. They get told what to think, and this is what they think they're "thinking".

Happens everywhere. I just went on a GB News youtube video and read the comments, total braindeadness going on there too.

To think the Trump cult was on the pacifist bandwagon?

Now, just like the wind changes direction, they are on board with war.

18 hours ago · PALM BEACH, Florida, Jan 7 (Reuters) - U.S. President-elect Donald Trump refused on Tuesday to rule out using military or economic action to pursue acquisition of the Panama............

Trump criticized American spending on Canadian goods and military support for Canada, saying the U.S. derives no benefits from doing so, and called the border between the two countries an "artificially drawn line."
He suggested he would impose tariffs on Denmark if it resists his offer to purchase Greenland, which he said is vital to U.S. national security. Shortly before Trump's comments, his son Don Jr. arrived in Greenland for a private visit.

Well you have to.understand that America and your Constitution is unique. The experiences that citizens in other coiuntries have is far.different than those in America experience. Employment interference and efforts to ruin another person is quite real in some countries. Their governments and apparatuses don't care if you are homeless, in fact, that appeals to them. Even promoting euthanasia of humans. This isn't normal and wouod have been viewed wit disgust and great alarm if only 20 years ago these.efforts were occurring.

Different experiences, but those with FPTP end up being screwed over far more than those with Proportional Representation. Why? Because the rich are able to manipulate the voting process with money in FPTP and far less with PR.

People are still manipulated, but what's the point in Germany where you need to manipulated EVERYONE because it's proportional, but in the US you only need to manipulate a few thousand here and a few thousand there to have a HUGE impact on the make up of Congress or the Presidency.

So, American just take it, take the fact that their system is messed up. Others changed their system, doesn't that make them more pro-active?

Umm, I don't think he's joking, at least not about the tariffs.

The whole "51st state" lobby is his test balloon. Trump loves big deals and action. He thinks outside the box and has creative vision with this.

In the short term I can't see it happening, but in the long term it just may occur out of necessity. I think Trump could negotiate a E.U type situation with some success. I'd LOVE to be able to compete directly with highly educated American workers for jobs there, you have plenty. You could do the same here for those looking to live in the cold.

We had an EU kind of situation. It was called NAFTA and Trump fucked it up.

I'm always amazed how you Trump cultists can take his crazy ramblings and think they are brilliant. This is what a cult does.

Wanting America to succeed doesn't make one some cukt member wit complete.loyalty to someone. Defending your border from poisons and illegals while confrointing China shouldn't be controversial. People don't appreciate the extent to which some of us have had our lives destroyed, they are actively interferring in my job for instance. You do not want to copy our system and I notice people like Kevin O'Lesry tries to promote "well we could have one economic nation between U.S and Canada, but Canadians want to stay Canadians". In essense, Canada and the S.I.C want to keep Canada under the "Constituional Monarchy" so that citizens rights like mine can be regularly destroyed but they do not want America or Americans to be aware of just how excessive and to what extent these abuses are and will be. It's akin to the Berlin Wall falling and the West gaining access to the Stasi files. The shock for Western society and East Germans was palatable. Sadly, in Canada there have been some high profile agencies who actively sought to replicate Stasi tactics as has been written about already in books.
Are you still whining because a Mounty slapped the snot out of you when you were a mouthy teen?

I figured it out. You're Snidley Whiplash!

American cops are far worse, especially if you are minoriy.

Let's move on, shall we.

Most people who traffic "poisons" are Americans, because we treat drug addiction like a crime instead of a medical issue.

Confronting China is stupid. If China ate our lunch, it's because we left it out for them.

We have an "illegal" problem because - wait for it - we have jobs to fill and they have people to fill them. If our immigration system wasn't broken, we'd fill those jobs with legal immigrants.

So you believe this is some globalist plot? Americans enjoy a Republic system, Canada does not. That is the biggest difference. It is why America jnnovates, fires bad police and cknfronts powerfj! abusers within your society but in Canada they do not.

We don't fire bad cops or confront power abusers.

That's the problem, Snidley, bad cops only get fired if they get caught on videotape shooting a black kid in the back, and even then the FOP and PBA go to the mattresses for the cop if he is put on trial.

I thought Trump ran on border control and lowering inflation, not invading Greenland, Panama, and Canada. I don't see how this lowers inflation.

What if Canada took him seriously and signed a free trade and mutual defense treaty with Canada? How would that impact inflation and US security?

You people keep saying that, just like you did last time Trump was President. But I don't see anyone laughing, do you?

Actually, Trump was an international joke by the time he staged his first ridiculous pageant with Kim Jung Un.

No, nobody laughed when Trump called the Russian invasion of Ukraine a “genius move”.
The only thing that kept people’s attention (outside his personality cult) was how dangerous and unstable he is.

he may be a pathetic man child, but he still has his finger on the button.

He need new cofeve to keep the sheep braying. They won’t remember (or they will dismiss) that he made all sorts of promises and boasts for their entertainment.

Lies and broken commitments don’t matter to cultists.

Will be? That ship sailed over 20 years ago. He has been for at least that long!

An interesting observation.

You’re right. And it has actually been longer than that.

Being a strutting ignoramus is what made him the darling of the NY. Post and the other tabloids, and got him occasional gigs on daytime talk shows.

They would put him on the air, let him put on his poor man’s idea of a rich man act, and say idiotic nonsense for laughs.

He knew he was a joke. Ut it got him on TV, which is what matters to him.

He’s still doing it!

Selective war.

Conquer Canada, Panama and Greenland.

Don’t send as ,ich as a bullet to Ukraine.

Give Isreal a free hand in their war.

Canadians can't take a joke. Just watch: Next Trump will be trolling Putin by saying we should make Ukraine our next state.

:laughing0301:

Canadians can't take a joke???? So why are so many of your favourite comedians, actually Canadians, you ******* idiot???

So you admit that Trump is a troll. That's not very smart of you to admit that.

What kind of an idiot thinks that foreign policy is conducting by trolling your allies???? Trump will think it really funny when we cut off your electricity and oil shipments cost you 33% more.

That last time Trump took office, our trade surplus with the USA was $11 billion a year. With Trump's new NAFTA deal, our trade surplus is over $100 billion. Trump, the Great Negotiator, was going to wipe out that surplus with new trade deal.

The "Great Negotiator" who was going to stop the world from screwing over the USA started a trade war that cost America 200,000 manufacturing jobs and increased your trade deficit by over 20%, and destroyed midwest farmers.

KEEP TROLLING. IT'S WORKING WELL FOR YOU - SAID NO ONE EVER.

This is incorrect as Canada purposely decreased the surplus in 2016 just before Trump took office to essentially counter his claim of Canadian surplus. In the months prior in 2016, Canada had a larger surplus, This was by design obviously.

Secondly, the surplus now isn't due to the new agreement, it is due to price of oil flying through the roof. This helped Canada obviously. Basically, your logic supports Trumps tariff demands as he will say "look at the massive imbalance, it's worse than ever thanks to Biden. We have to apply a tariff".

Canada needed to leverage Canadians like myself but itself they destroy them at a young age. Amazing really. What I could have achieved for Canadas economy and our relationship with the U,S when I worked at a U.S corporation in my 20s is immeasurable. Our own arrogant, unaccountable agencies are destroying this nation. Multiple careers, the hearing in one ear, my relationships with my friends and wife, they have done everything to harm me, Next, is their attempts to steal my home and render me homeless.

Really great people these Canadians eh? The same types who would collaborate with the enemy because they don't stand for principle, they stand for self gain only and piss on integrity.

Canadians don't have to be comedians. You maple-syrup-sucking Hosers make me laugh without having to tell jokes. That's because you are the joke.

Now start paying up those tariffs before we come take your country away from you and send you back to England and France, where you came from. Except for shockedcanadian. He's a pretty cool guy, so he can stay.

A logic reminder, its not Canadians who pay the tariffs, its US consumers.

It is who you consider who is more important. Katie Couric or a person who cleans toilets. That is a reality.

And as I said on another thread, all this talk about merging with other countries is very reminiscent of the North American Union (NAU) that the globalists tried to push back in the early 2000s, but failed. (Does no one here remember that? I know that Alan Stallion probably does, it was talked about on freerepublic, way back in the day.) I believe the NWO has been re-branded, to appeal to conservatives and other right-leaning folks, who otherwise would absolutely oppose it, if it was a Democrat bringing it on.

^^^This ^^^

Though my expectations are very low regarding depth of dialogue around here these days, I was genuinely curious if anyone was gonna bring that up.

I can tell you who is sweating the most in Canada, Doug Ford the Premier as it appears Trump is serious about the tariffs. I cannot imagine he would repeat this position unless Trump meant it.

Nobody on earth can say I didn't warn our leaders as far back as Harper if we didn't find common ground and shared Values. Harpers first term was solid, his second term was a waste. He had an opportunity to expand civil liberties in Canada and embrace a more "Republic" approach to citizens rights, but he failed.

Now Ford loudly declared that he would stop sending energy to states like Michigan if Trump applied tariffs. Even the Premier of Alberta warned against such an unrepentant approach. What a poor decision to make under duress.

This is how you know some people are surrounded by cops in the most bullying province (along with Quebec) in the country. Covert cops destroying lives, careers, our reputation and economy and this guy walks around as if in uniform himself whacking his night stick against the most vulnerable homeless people in Ontario but lashing out in anger when a bigger dog bites back.

Ford ran some label company if my memory serves correct and he considers himself an equal when dealing with Trump. Meanwhile Trump has had 1000s of LLCs, built a global empire, his own social media and now president...twice. The response from a Premier in a province fully beholden to the U.S is to say "how dare you tariff us, we will just raise the ante significantly and not send you energy!" That's now how you treat a nation that has treated Ontario VERY well. You find a tariff of your own or try and negotiate, you don't deny reality of the imbalance and threaten to cause great harm to U.S citizens.

Trump doesn't seem like the type who wouldn't be informed of this threat and who wouldn't respond to such a threat by applying the very tariff our Premier pretended he could prevent with such an increase in response. These are the greatest minds we can offer folks. You would think this country could raise the prospects of those who understand Americans through multiple conversations over decades, instead they lift up the captains of the police who prevent the nation from succeeding.

Many Canadian authorities from the RCMP on down to the OPP and TPS only seem to do well when they have other creepy Canadians (and American police who are anti-liberty) helping them...

This nation should consider hiring those who understand America better than they do.

Earlier in the day, the incoming president was asked whether he would consider using “military force” to annex Canada, given Trump’s refusal to rule out resorting to such measures to secure control of Greenland and the Panama Canal.

“No. Economic force, because Canada and the United States, that would really be something,” Trump said at a news conference at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Fla.

“You get rid of that artificially drawn line, and you take a look at what that looks like … it would also be much better for national security.”
Trump went on to state that the U.S. spends “hundreds of billions” of dollars to “protect” and “take care of Canada,” clarifying that while the U.S. has “no right” to claim a sovereign nation, Canada should simply become an American state if it is receiving so much support from its southern neighbour.

Trump said he asked Trudeau, during the prime minister’s trip to Florida in late November, what would happen if the U.S. were to no longer “subsidize” Canada. Last year, according to American data, the U.S. trade deficit in goods with Canada as of November was around $55 billion USD.

“I said, ‘What would happen if we didn’t do it?’ He said, ‘Canada would dissolve,’” said Trump, who also told reporters he still believes hockey legend Wayne Gretzky should be prime minister.
I would love to hear that interview as he gave it and not as filtered through a media that puts their own spin on it.
