During tonight's CBS Republican presidential debate, Donald Trump was the only candidate to address the news that Carrier will be sending hundreds of American jobs to Mexico. The GOP frontrunner said that under a President Trump, Carrier would stay and "build in the United States because we are killing ourselves with trade pacts that are no good for us and no good for our workers." Video footage emerged yesterday, which went viral, capturing the anger and heartache of 1,400 Indianapolis workers who were informed that they soon would be out of work, as their company will be sending their jobs...

ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) - A HVAC company owner is turning his back on one of his biggest suppliers after he said the supplier turned its back on its employees. Wednesday, Carrier announced it plans to relocate its manufacturing plant from Indianapolis' west side to Mexico, taking 1,400 jobs with it. The decision obviously isn't sitting well with employees but it's also bothering several heating and air companies. It's a business decision that comes from the heart. "We're not helping buy a CEO their 5th vacation home, we're helping feed our family," said R.D. Poffenbarger as he installed a thermostat. He...

V I don't get these deals at all. Not sure if you caught my rant about what we had to go thru for my husband to head up the PPG team at Saturn and we are talking thru the head of a needle as it should be.

Long story short my husband was part of a select team to go to Saturn to launch water borne paint. From Canada. But the hoops PPG America went thru to get them down there was unreal. As it should be.

They had to prove no American could do my husbands job which made sense considering he bloody well made the shit work from the get go. Trust me. I know all the original colors on his clothes :)

But we had to prove no one could do my husbands job.

I don't get the move to mexico crap. I never have. I never will. And I stand with the workers in Indianapolis.

Vig., American companies have been doing this since the 50's.......in 1964 ...96% of ALL clothing and footwear worn by Americans was MADE IN AMERICA,today it is down to only 4% made in America. In the 90's I was in Hawaii with my son.....he wanted the Hornet outfit...Got it but MADE IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find it most strange that anyone would contemplate voting for Trump!!!!!!!!!!!I know why?..because you all think that he will improve things for Americans and bring back "The American Dream"...he won't,he can't but you hope..........fair enough but you will be disappointed, moreover he is typical of the business mentality of removal of manufacturing in America and very skilled workers jobs,...............I hope I'm wrong but I know I'm right..steve

A new poll from CBS News conducted before Saturday's GOP debate, shows Donald Trump with 42 percent support among Republicans, and a massive 22 point lead over second-place candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) The three candidates vying for the "establishment lane" -- Jeb Bush, Gov. John Kasich and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) combine for just 30 percent support. The poll of likely Republican primary voters, drawn from a larger sample of 1,300 registered voters, shows Trump with 42 percent, followed by Cruz with 20 percent. Rubio is third with 15 percent, ahead of Kasich with 9 percent and of Jeb...

Protectionism as a way to protect U.S. industry has been tried and failed. After the collapse of Wall Street in 1929, Congress passed a law imposing high tariffs on imported goods, which sparked a tariff war and sunk us even further into Depression.

Lol, there is PLENTY of reason to not expect US workers to compete with Third World serfs who work 80 hour weeks for chump change.

You are deluded.

If Trump keeps hammering away on trade he'll be unbeatable in November. Nobody can come close to him on his expertise regarding trade and business.

You are right Jim,allowing cheap overseas made items may help those people make a few shekles but it really is the tiny minority in these places who earn the fortunes..........but there are other parts to this, firstly Yes there is a marginal improvement in the overseas workers lives(but don't they have to pay for it....80 hours a week, living away from their family etc,.) but their slight improvement has a dire effect for Americans as their standard of living drops markedly........they infact pay double the price they were paying for items....How many of you Guys been in to Walmart and purchased a Drill bit for a cheap price ,only to find you can only use the fcuker once as it's ruined....
Ahh well you say,it was cheap I'll just get another, same thing happens and off you go and buy another and another(The PRICE OF AN/THE ITEM,HAS CLOUDED YOUR THOUGHT PROCESS but like cheap food,YOU HAVE BECOME ADDICTED) had you have purchased an American product IT WOULD STILL BE WORKING AFTER YEARS OF USE..................my wise Mom(God Bless Her) always told me "Little Liq,remember you can be Cents Selfish,But Dollars Poor"..She was Right

Support American Quality and Quality Workers and Local Business that Buys American........because Non of your Politicians and Mr Trump, will help you..Ever

He should win on US interests alone. Despite the fight we had to go thru before my husband landed the job at Saturn in Spring Hill we understood the fight. That no one should have gotten my husbands job that was not an American first.

But we understood this. And the fight was bloody.

As it should be though. One should protect their workers. It just so happened that my husband developed the paint that would employ so many US Workers more.

ETA: not just the development but the application on the Saturn.

And your educated, quality Workforce will be PAID A PITTANCE...be carerful what you wish for
