After how many years of complaining the Federal government is taking too much land, the MAGA lot suddenly cheer when the Federal government takes control of land....

go figure.

It probably depends upon the usage for that land - and whether ownership is being transferred or merely control.

In this instance we are talking about "control" rather than transferring the pink slip, and that for a mere easement.

In this instance we are talking about providing the US Military with the access-easement it needs for its mission.

In this instance we are talking about the US Military fulfilling its assignment to close, secure and guard the border.

It's righteous and for the price of ceding private control of a 60-foot easement, the nation gets a secure border.

MAGA is suddenly cheering because the tiny miniscule irritation of easement control yields a desirable outcome.

Yeah, the Minnesota National Guard is going home for the weekend from the border? Do you have a lick of sense, or do you spew inane comments? Many years ago, my National Guardsmen who worked for me in their civilian job were in Texas for 6 months. They never came home to KY one time. Some came back, quit, and joined the Border Patrol.

I was in the active reserves (it is different from the reserves) so I know the system. If OMB listens to me the Minnesota NGSMs could request to go there for annual training. OMB could not just send them.

I don't know what is with you geezers but I am all stopping the flood of illegals. I just believe in the Constitution and that is why I read it once a month and than find a read good article about a test case.

Sorry, Mack, but the military does not defend the Constitution, that is the job of the government. One of the jobs of the military is to protect and defend our borders, and that is what they are doing.

If I had my way, they would shoot dead anyone who so much as touches or goes near the border wall, and send out tanks and attack dogs after anyone who gets over it.

Throw the dead meat back over on the Mexico side.

Disagree all you want, but the Constitution is mere words and principle on paper. The military defends the principles, but not the actual piece of paper those principles are written on. Perhaps a better word for your clip might have been to /uphold/ the Constitution, the military does not literally defend it, that implies it is under attack.

The military is the actionable arm of the federal government, and principle to the fed is to protect and defend our borders, which the military have now all been sent to do.

Have you reviewed Article IV section 4 of the Constitution? The government is obligated to protect the states from invasion.

I agree with stopping illegals, but you don't know shit about the National Guard deployed to the border. They are from all over the US!
