I'm sure he, just like you, claimed he knew what was best for him, and he was smart, and his choices were fine, and he was a peaceful and productive.

All that was true.

Then he one night after passing out, his son was killed in an auto accident. He didn't even find out until the next morning because he was drunk out of his mind. Turns out he was hit, and killed by a drunk driver. Likely from the same bar he was hanging out at... since according to him there wasn't another bar for quite a ways.

He gave up drinking, and never claimed his choices didn't hurt anyone.

It's BS. How you live, affects other people. When you are a druggie, you normalize it for other people, and they.... as the statistics show... are not going to be as responsible for you. You are an accomplice to the actions of others that harm society, and I wish you respected that.

The Soviet Union was not religion free, people practiced several religions, it's just that religion was not officially encouraged, and militant atheism was the official doctrine.

Churches were indeed closed down, turned into museums or torn down, but not all of them.

There is a saying in libertarianism. What matter is not what's true. What matters is who decides.
