However, it does seem likely that Fox News felt more of a need to settle than Dominion did. Therefore, it seems probable that Fox News took a fairly big financial hit.

Dominion was smart to settle... If this had been a drawn out battle, FOX would have forced Dominion to show the offshore server farms and algorithms.

$787 is a huge amount for Dominion.
Even if they got a billion plus settlement from the jury, there was always the risk of the damages being reduced on appeal


Fox did not want to have their star lineup testify under oath so a settlement was necessary
