Dollar General store staff all quit at the same time leaving sign saying 'overworked and underpaid'

You just proved my point in post #5 that most/all socialist/communists fascists are greedy and expect others to provide for them.

Start a business out of your own pocket/finances and get back to us on the huge pay and benefit package you provide your employees with.
Why are they hiring? They should not be hiring. It is that simple.

I walked off of 2 different jobs I. My early years of the godawful terrible rat race. Best 2 days of my life. Never felt prouder or more excited. Empowering. What a wonderful feeling.

Why does one blame the experience level and available resources for low-paying jobs (that anyone can perform) as the problem? Why would an entry level position pay the same as an experienced IT professional?
They don't fuckup.

Why do you support a MW that is below the market levels? So poor employers can steal wages?

Good for them

The Public can survive without a Dollar General
I have one about a mile from my house but have never been in there
I like the idea of a mass walkout rather than individuals making a decision to “Take this job and shove it”

Only way to get management to change is to hurt the bottom line

I think this is something to be celebrated. The dollar stores are going out of business. It was cool when you could get a 1 liter of mountain dew for $1 but then they raised everything to $1.25. Okay fine, so I pay a quarter more for everything. But then one day my 4 things cost more than $5 plus 10 cent deposit. I asked why she said the mountain dew was $1.66. OH, so now not everything is the same price. What about the law that says prices have to be clearly desplayed? They are certainly breaking that rule. I see no prices.

And shrinkflation is the worse at dollar stores. Raising the price and shrinking what they give you. You should see how small my sponges are now. Ridiculous.

So I'm officially done at the dollar store. They lost me. I assume everything there is the same price as at Kroger now. If it's $1 there and $2 at Kroger I assume I get twice as much at Kroger.

And yesterday I went and got 4 1 liters for $5 at Kroger. So Kroger is CHEAPER than the dollar store. Fuck the dollar stores and their cheap shit from China.

I'd rather pay a little more and see them go away.

My company in the 2000's started cutting heads. Slashing departments. We saw them pick one person off at a time. Each time none of us spoke up because we were afraid to be next. Then when they started on you, it was a horrible 2 months while they picked on you and built a case for firing you. My mistake was signing a write up. I should have said I'm not signing that. Fire me if you want but I'm not signing that. Then I can't sue you later.

I actually got this company to start paying everyone a severance based on how long you had worked there. It's a lot easier to get people to sign a release when you're giving them something in return. It was too late for me but the stink I caused made them change their policy on firing people.

Anyways, when they let me go, I was so relieved on the way home. I should have had that attitude the entire time. Some people snap when they get fired I get relieved. Because I usually can see it coming. So can people who snap. They just react differently.

A few years later the boss who fired me got caught cheating. Breaking the law too honestly. They didn't charge him but fudging the numbers is illegal right? I found him on facebook and said "karma's a bitch huh Brian?". LOL.

Exactly.

Raise the minimum wage to 15 dollars, and the employees will celebrate their next paycheck.

Then be able to buy only the same amount the next time they shop for food.

Meanwhile, the inflationary pressure of the minimum wage hike will reduce the purchasing power of people on fixed incomes like welfare and social security.

The left's inevitable solution? Another wage hike!
Just think of how cheap stuff could be if they didn’t have to pay the help at all!

You can do that with everything. If Trump gave everyone a tax break, that certainly would cause inflation then. Putting more money in everyone's pockets.

In 2022, only 1.02 million hourly workers —1.3% of all hourly workers — earned at or below the federal minimum wage. That's the lowest number since data collection began in 1979.

I doubt 1.3% of workers will raise inflation that much.

How about how much CEO's pay themselves? Does that cause inflation? Is that why you never complain about maximum wage?

Managers run the full spectrum of human types. If you had more experience you might realize that.

A few decades ago one of my self-employment(business) efforts involved subcontracting a furniture delivery service.

Fees we charged the customer were set per type of furniture and distance if outside our basic delivery area. I paid the guy I subbed from a percent of weekly gross revenues, paid for vehicle operation expenses, especially fuel for the truck, and had a hired helper who rode along to help carry large items like sofas and dressers etc. I paid this helper just slightly more than minimum wage. He spent about 90% of his time on the clock just riding in passenger seat and looking out the window, or reading.

There were several weeks where his paycheck was larger than mine, mine was "net profit" after all expenses had been covered, including his wages. It never developed into the profitable venture I was lead to believe from the guy I subcontracted from, so eventually I quit that contract and "laid-off" my helper.

Situations similar to that is why about four out of five small business ventures fail and close down within the first three years of start-up.
This is the sort of thing that most Leftist don't know or understand.
I was able to be self employed for thirty seven years, should I talk shit and tell you that you failed because you are a rightist? You tribalistic people suck dirty ass

Parts of a dollar
The Five and Dime

The idea back then was that everything in the store cost either five cents or 10 cents. As the years went by, the reality of that had to change of course, but these stores were places where you could find the most wonderful treasures and knickknacks you didn't even know you needed.

Sound familiar?

Surely not in the USA.
