Heck, I don't know why Trump asks for crap that isn't important, as opposed Elon, who sees things that are important and gets them done. The department was small by .gov standards but expanding.....At first it was staffed by Pentagon employees, I suspect due to it's mission.....Then the dems got hold of it, restaffed it with their left-leaners, and just used it as one of their propaganda arms to mislead Americans.

Nobody. But, I have thought it simply an excepted fiat currency, ever since Nixon took it off the Gold Standard, so it could expand.

If it is an excepted fiat, univerally used, who knows what the limits are, especially with ever expanding GDP? I made straight A's in Econ, never got an good answer to that. Not sure they know? Pretty sure, we don't want to find out, the hard way.
