Doge reduced warning and response time for the Texas flood.

Yes
Our nation has natural disasters every year……Hurricanes, fires, floods, earthquakes, blizzards

That is why FEMA and NWS are so important

Why the FUK is Trump cutting them?

Because they are bloated and can achieve the same results with less employees. Duh.

Democrats always believe throwing more money at something is the answer. That lead to bloat. One of the better examples is the Dept. of Education.

Why not cut even more? What not cut half the staff? Is there no level that isn’t dangerous? If there isn’t get rid of the whole thing. If there is a level, how can you be sure it wasn’t this level? You can’t… be honest.

You just know that cutting 6 staff members that led to the worst deaths from flood in modern US history that wasn’t a hurricane had zero impact? Why not cut 16? Why 6? You have no idea what it takes to staff an office safely. We can all be sure it wasn’t this staffing level.

No, it didn't. What makes you think that additional forecasters would have made any difference? They have been wrong many times before.

11 Meteorologists couldn't figure this out, your post doesn't help you!
Organization was decimated by 23% of its staff including key positions. The result? A terribly inadequate preparation level as clear as day by the deadliest flood in modern history other than a hurricane. This was malpractice at its greatest height.

Sure, we can cut too much and not enough. There is a balance. There is zero evidence that staffing prior to DOGE would have made any difference whatsoever in their forecast. None.

What happened was tragic and people can try the political blame game but the reality is Mother Nature can be a harsh mistress

Your claim ( as per usual) is nonsense.
that wasn’t a hurricane had zero impact?
You haven’t supported your own bullshit main premise I deny in fact that any staffing cuts had anything to do with the flooding or the ensuing deaths. So, rather than mindlessly repeating yourself, try to man up and support your claim. Meet your burden.

It’s ok. We all know you won’t. And you can’t.
Why not cut 16? Why 6? You have no idea what it takes to staff an office safely. We can all be sure it wasn’t this staffing level.
Why not STFU until you have your first clue about whatever it is you imagine you saying?

That's your NARRATIVE, not REALITY.

The facts are as follows: There was a flood with devastating results and locals are blaming poor weather forecasts and untimely phone alerts. It is following a devastating headcount reduction in the office. As a paying public it is up to the NWS and Trump administration to show us they aren’t connected. Knee jerk “everything is fine” responses are political cover. This is an outrageous betrayal of public trust. We deserve answer and not SweetTea uninformed posters just posting what they want to “believe”. You have no training in what a correct staffing level is and there were huge death counts and real questions. Children died. And all you want to do is carry Trump’s water.

It is the facts. If this happened last year you’d want to shoot Biden with your own gun. Since it is a fat orange guy, you could care less. It’s crazy. The children who died deserve you being inquisitive. To stand up for those who can no longer stand.

FAKE NEWS

I’ve said my peace. You guys can carry on. I can’t believe this is America where 100 deaths don’t spark any concerns about our readiness as a nation in the wake of Trump’s ridiculously uninformed cuts. They came in month one with no study, no impact analysis, no department feedback mechanism. They were just implemented and all those who disagreed were fired.

Because adding personnel just for the sake of adding personnel is wasteful, all spending of the people’s money needs to vetted.

Neither NOAA, NWS or the NWS Union said they were short staffed, so any attempt to blame Trump, Musk for a natural disaster is dishonest, disingenuous, and based on lies.

NWS had EXTRA staff on hand in Texas for the event.

Warnings went out per NWS guidelines.
The problem is: 1) the NWS doesn't have a "GET OUt of there NOW Or you are going to DIE" alert. We get weather alerts all the time here. 2) No one could have predicted nearly two feet of rain that fast absent a tropical event; 3) Sirens would have saved lives but thats not a Fed issue.

Oh please. You couldn't care less about the kids that died. You just want to bash Trump.

What about the floods in the Midwest in 2019 in Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri? They did not correctly forecast the event and many people were caught off guard. What about the floods in TN in 2021? 20+ people died as forecasts did not correctly predict the amount of rainfall and the lead time on their notification was too short. What happened in those cases? They were fully funded to my knowledge.

Yeah, you have fallen victim to a media frenzy that is promoting a false narrative. Democrats fall for it every time.

People did die from flash flooding under Biden due to inadequate notifications and forecast. Did you forget?

I can’t find any source that anyone from NOAA, NWS or the NWS Union has said they were short staffing in Texas was inadequate. The union has said they were adequately staffed.

Yet they were lauded for doing their jobs..... professionally.

Expect to see lower staffing levels, positions combined.
