Doge reduced warning and response time for the Texas flood.

The National Weather Service (NWS) offices involved in forecasting the recent catastrophic Texas floods were not fully staffed, and this has become a point of serious concern and debate.
This is becoming more fun with every post:

AI Overview

Yes, there was a Warning Coordination Meteorologist on duty at the National Weather Service office in Austin/San Antonio the night of the Texas flood. While the office was fully staffed with five employees that night, a permanent Warning Coordination Meteorologist (WCM) was not present. The position was vacant due to an early retirement offer accepted by Paul Yura, who had previously held the role. The WCM acts as a crucial link between forecasters and emergency managers.

Your own posts betray you..............

Yeah, ten and thirteen year ago articles have absolutely nothing to do with what has transpired.
Was in response to an accusation that Dem politicize crisis when you can see 100% of the time its Pubs. Links were provided. You didnt respond you just ignored.
I believe you and others tried phrasing that as the merciless Trump firing people carte blanche, when in reality people were given the choice to stay or leave voluntarily....some probies were layed off....I'll give you that.

Voluntary reductions my man.........and it has been noted the local weather forecast office responsible for forecasting in Texas was fully staffed, for the emergency, including a warning coordination meteorologist, even though the position hadn't been filled due to the retirement of the previous one. So you can lie all day long and at the end of the day, you're still a liar.
600 Forced cuts were implemented. Some were fired, some were retired. The point is that they were forced cuts which were not replaced. Your dodges have zero merit to the fact that almost 600 people were cut from the NOAA and not replaced and people died.

People died from poor local government planning, not DOGE cuts.....you can't handle the truth.
Red states suck at managing disasters for sure. Look at the freeze in Texas a few years ago but the red state incompetence was magnified by failure from the DOGE cut NWS. Sadly.

Key vacancies existed in the NWS offices closest to the flooding, including the Austin/San Antonio office, which was missing a Warning Coordination Meteorologist—a critical role for communicating with emergency managers.

The NWS office responsible for Kerr County, where most fatalities occurred, had six of 27 positions vacant, including leadership roles essential for coordination.

Heavy rains from the remnant moisture from what was formerly Tropical Storm Barry fell quickly in the predawn hours of Friday in the Texas Hill Country, causing the Gaudalupe River, outside of San Antonio, to rise 26 feet in just 45 minutes.

The floods grew to their worst at the midpoint of a long holiday weekend when many people were asleep.

WHAT THE **** COULD HAVE FEMA OR THE WEATHER SERVICE DONE TO PREVENT THE DISASTER ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Who was it was whining last year they didn't have money to cover hurricane season?

You must not be aware that eliminating FEMA hasn't been addressed yet. As far as NWS, those places that needed staffed in an emergency were there in full force...........so minimal staffing during normal ops isn't an issue.....particularly when resources are added with an up and coming predicted event.

Arbitrary cuts haven't created an impact, have they?
see # 651.

So the steady decline in public education since the DOE was created is just a coincidence?

Actually you just made an argument that this federal agency is not needed.
No, it was created by shortcomings of state and local education officials.

They are involved in the day to day running of our schools

What does Dept Education provide?

Pell Grants
Funding for low income school districts
Funding for special education

This is MAGA in a nut shell:

You tried to act like some retirement reductions werent real reductions you are so desperate. People died from DOGE cuts and everyone just watched it.
More to come

I can’t believe all the Republicans on here claiming that cuts will not impact disaster recovery

This crisis has, once again, shown the American people the lengths the Democrats will go to lie for some political advantage.

Everything they pushed were total lies to smear Trump.

Once again, they've been exposed by facts.
Can't get over how people like BULLDOG are willing to politicize deaths to make themselves feel justified in their huge losses in 2024.

Let's see if you get a straight answer.

How you get around the office was actually over staffed specifically for the emergency?
not sure how many people were there, but they didn't have a Warning Coordination Meteorologist and 6 of 27 positions were vacant.

FEMA WAS DESTROYED WAY BEFORE TRUMP

CNN reported in 2008 that FEMA confiscated at least $85 million in donated goods and prevented them from reaching Katrina disaster victims.
This included clothing, bedding, food and medical supplies. They stored these materials for years and then GAVE AWAY the supplies long after Katrina was over. FEMA claimed the supplies were “in excess to their needs.” This report and all related articles now seem to be missing from CNN’s archives.

We just witnessed a repeat of this behavior from FEMA and the affiliated agencies within their oversight. We saw local EMS being advised to prevent civilians from helping their communities. Supplies were once again being blocked, people with drones were being told not to help find survivors, people with helicopters are were threatened for helping save survivors and little aid reached Helene victims for weeks. Elon Musk’s Starlink was even been prevented from providing satellite internet services to affected regions until the story went national and the Department of Transportation was forced to address the problem.

The declassification of a program called Rex 84 (tied to Operation Garden Plot) revealed that FEMA was working directly with the Department of Defense on a hypothetical strategy to round up and detain large numbers of civilians considered a “threat to national security.” In other words, FEMA was to act as a tool for helping suppress civil disturbances, it was not necessarily designed to help Americans in times of need.
Very interesting.

Nobody said they could prevent it. They were understaffed, which always causes delays.

Was before the modern era of Trump Derangement Syndrome......get a grip.

560 total......500 took buyouts or retirement. They didn't have to leave.
Your dodges have zero merit to the fact that almost 600 people were cut from the NOAA and not replaced and people died
So they're hiring 125 or so and not 560...............sounds like severely over staffed.

Look at the freeze in Texas a few years ago but the red state incompetence was magnified by failure from the DOGE cut NWS.
NWS staffing was spot on for the emergency..............deaths were from local government and citizens not wanting to install flood warning in the area.

I see the TDS has gripped your soul................you need help, look what TDS has done to some of your com-padres:

This is MAGA in a nut shell:

The LA fires debacle was because of the inept political leaders of LA and California. Their woke policies led to that fire burning out of control. What happened in Texas was a natural disaster...something akin to a bad tornado. If you want to fault the response of Trump or anyone else to the crisis knock your self out. Claiming that flood killed those people because of Trump's agenda borders on farce!
