Doge reduced warning and response time for the Texas flood.

Why is it so many people that are supposed to be at least semi educated do not understand weather and terrain? When has any weather reporting been 100% accurate? Weather advisories were posted as is usual. Most people have learned that an advisory does not lead to anything of consequence. When it was evident that the weather patterns had changed an emergency was posted. By this time it was late at night and most were asleep and not monitoring their phones or local weather stations. Texas hill country is rolling hills. Flash flooding occurred. Some semi literate folks may notice the word FLASH and be aware of what that word means. While some may want to believe that there was some way to avoid this or that something was not done because of politics or religious reasons or some other reason. It was a tragic natural disaster. You can try and blame others for any natural disaster but it just shows a lack of education and nothing else.

You talk about being being "semi educated" and then you act like nothing could be done.

Go look into what happened here. Instead of just trying to change everything to fit your narrative.

I get it you have no idea what happened or why but you want to make it about something else other than a natural disaster. Got it. Carry on being crazy. Forget someone tried to teach you something

Actually I've done enough research to know something should have happened, and it didn't.

I've done enough research to know that this area thought about having an early warning system and rejected it because they couldn't be bothered to spend the money for it.

You think that's crazy? Well, you're on my ignore list, and rightly so.

Yet warnings were issued well in advance without your boy......Now what?

Independent meteorologists and a former NWS official said that warnings issued in the run-up to this weekend’s flooding were about as timely and accurate as could be expected with the weather data available in real time. Predicting extreme rainfall and flash flooding beyond several hours is challenging, they said, and it’s also not easy to ensure urgent warnings reach those most at risk.
The first phone warnings went off too late at 7am. Not before.

Well, I guess this certainly does explain all of the warnings THAT DID GET ISSUED prior to the flooding...?
There were no phone warnings before 7am. And there was little urgency until 1am just a few hours before everyone died in their sleep. The coordinator would have had phone alerts going off.

Doge taking a chain saw to our weather monitoring and warning systems and to FEMA has made the tragedy of the Texas flood even worse than it had to be. Those agencies were in place for a reason, and should have never been degraded by someone who didn't even understand why we need those agencies.

Yes, it's quite possible that victims of the recent Texas flood could have received earlier or more effective warnings if not for cuts and policy shifts tied to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and former President Donald Trump's administration.

🌀 What Happened in Texas?

On July 4, 2025, catastrophic flash flooding struck areas along the Guadalupe River, leading to fatalities and widespread emergency rescues. Local authorities issued urgent warnings, but the scale and speed of the flooding overwhelmed many systems.

🧩 How DOGE and Trump’s Policies May Have Affected This

According to investigative reporting from the Texas Observer and San Antonio Current, the Trump administration’s DOGE initiative significantly impacted federal disaster preparedness and response:

  • FEMA Cuts: DOGE slashed FEMA’s workforce by about 20% and froze parts of its funding.
  • Disaster Aid Shift: Trump announced plans to phase out FEMA and shift disaster response responsibilities to individual states, arguing governors should handle emergencies independently.
  • Climate Risk Data Degradation: DOGE reportedly dismantled or degraded federal resources that track and model climate-augmented weather risks, such as flood forecasting and early warning systems.
  • Infrastructure Investment Delays: Federal support for flood prevention projects—like levees and drainage upgrades—was reduced or delayed, leaving vulnerable areas more exposed.

🧭 Could Earlier Warnings Have Been Possible?

While local agencies like the Harris County Flood Control District did issue warnings, the broader federal infrastructure that supports early detection, modeling, and communication of extreme weather risks may have been weakened. This could have:

  • Reduced the lead time for warnings
  • Limited the accuracy of flood forecasts
  • Slowed coordination between federal and local responders

So while it's speculative to say definitively that lives would have been saved, the evidence strongly suggests that federal cuts and policy shifts under DOGE and Trump made Texas—and its residents—more vulnerable to disasters like this one.

Counselor, is this long rambling post, an attempt to blame Donald Trump for the flood? Please clarify.

The question is why werent phones pinged before 7am. Noem is claiming technology only works after 7am apparently. Total lie. The staffing didnt show up til 7am that knew how to do it.

I don't usually read Fox News, what's the point? But I thought, what's their response to the floods in Texas?

Would they be doing everything the could to control the narrative in favor of Trump and Abbott or would it be trying to be objective?

Well, sees like it's the former. Let's look

"DHS says mainstream media is 'deliberately lying' about events leading up to Texas flooding"

Ah, so the "mainstream media" (clearly doesn't include Fox "News" in this) is "lying" because.... they're not following the official narrative.

There's a tweet, or whatever they're called these days, from Homeland Security.

"The mainstream media is deliberately lying about the events leading up to the catastrophic flooding in Texas. The National Weather Service executed timely, precise forecasting and warnings, despite unprecedented rainfall overwhelming the region. Here is the timeline of NWS’s proactive response:"

In the text below this on Fox "News" it says:

""The National Weather Service executed timely, precise forecasting and warnings, despite unprecedented rainfall overwhelming the region," it continued."

Now, the issue here isn't whether the NWS issued timely, precise forecasting and warnings, it's whether ANYTHING WAS DONE WITH THESE WARNINGS. Obviously Fox "News" doesn't mention this.

Then they have "Mississippi governor prays ", yeah, that'll solve the problem.

Then a thing about Tim Walz saying he'll offer assistance.

Then you have "Alabama governor prays ", which I assume won't help either.

You also have "White House Faith Office prays"

They have a quote from Trump: "“And it's a horrible thing that took place. Absolutely horrible. So we say, God bless all of the people that have gone through so much, and God bless the state of Texas. This incredible place,” he continued."

Basically saying that Mr "I do the best floods in history" God should bless all the people.... I'm sure that'll help too.

Then you have "Former presidents share prayers"

I can basically find NOTHING that talks about what went wrong in the first place. It's just talking about God and prayer and criticizing the left wing for talking about what went wrong in the first place.

I wonder why Fox "News" doesn't want to report about what went wrong in the first place.
You are a sick piece of human excrement! People are still lost and you are trying to politicize the weather.

Like Pavlov's dogs, The Following responds to being triggered by "it's the media's fault" not by salivating but by dismissing the media's legitimacy when Dear Leader is criticized. It's classical conditioning.

Grok Is Blaming Musk and Trump for Texas Flooding Deaths

17 hours ago — “Trump's NOAA cuts impaired flood warnings, contributing to deaths,” Grok wrote. “Facts aren't woke; they're just facts.” ...

Elon Musk’s AI tool Grok, which was built to reduce the spread of misinformation on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, is pointing the finger squarely at its own creator, and the administration he once worked for, for the loss of life during this week’s terrible flooding in Texas.

“Trump’s NOAA cuts, pushed by Musk’s DOGE, slashed funding 30% and staff 17%, underestimating rainfall by 50% and delaying alerts,” the AI bot replied to a user asking who is responsible for the fate of the 27 young girls who are still missing in floodwaters at Camp Mystic.

“This contributed to the floods killing 27, including ~20 Camp Mystic girls. Facts over feelings,” Grok continued.
You called Jan. 6 an Insurrection. May you and those you know really know one in your lives. You friends Antifa this weekend attacked a government building. Not the first-time insurrectionists have done this. In affect an insurrection from your words. We know Progs would have had them all arrested or even killed them if it was on the other side.

You're an asshole for turning a natural disaster into a political attack, Frigid!
Ah yes, the "it's too early" response. The one conservatives employee after each mass murder with a gun. We can't talk about gun control after a murder spree and we can't talk about DOGE defunded weather related warning systems after a flood that kills over 80 people.
