Does This Hit Home

did they intentionally cut their own income flow and then go on a spending binge?

now that would be really stupid.

If someone is spending recklessly they should have their money/credit source cut off or at least curtailed back especially if it is MY money they are pissing away like drunken fools.

when the budget is set based on a certain income level, it would be irresponsible to cut one's available cash flow.

wouldn't it?

so before you get to cuts, shouldn't you restore your income flow?

or minimally engage in a combination of both?

If I trusted the government to cut their ridiculous spending we might be able to talk about raising revenues. I am one of those who knows better than to trust the government. They lie.

Cuts to defense spending, domestic spending, and entitlement programs must happen. I will gladly discuss with others here the particulars that might be fair game to cut and or trim. There are many discussions and groups online that address the details of where best to cut and how much. Obviously all are up for debate and modification but they must happen.

They will never cut anything. They will reduce future spending and call it a cut so that Joe Q. Public thinks they actually cut something. A game as old as the nation. This whole behind closed doors negotiating is pure bullshit.

NO, Maobama figured out some thing better, he's going on vacation for 3 week where he can watch us go off the cliff froma beach in Hawaii. Yep, great leadership.

Yeah I know but I refuse to stop demanding. Of course I refuse to vote for or re-elect the same spending whores back into office. I send emails and do what I can to be a pain in the ass constituent. Seeing my over the top tax burden on a regular basis is a driving force.

Better yet, like the last time...he'll rush home leaving Mooch and the kids there to save the nation! :clap2: The press will re-Anoint him and Christ will have returned to earth.

I hear you. My reply wasn't aimed at you. It was just a general statement of reality.

The governemnt never cuts and likely never will. It's all smoke and mirrors. This whole exercise in frustration is just a game. A game they will all agree on ending when the midnight hour strikes.

Runaway deficit spending can be cured witha few amendments to the Constitution.

Term limits for Congress Critters.
A reasonable Balanced Budget Amendment (with exceptions for a declared war).
A plan to pay off the debt.

We don't need a plan to pay down or pay off the debt. Just keep future budgets either balanced or if needed, limit borrowing to less than growth in GDP. It will take some time, but if we could stick to this type of plan, GDP would grow much quicker than the debt and that would reduce the debt as a percentage of GDP. Even doing this won't be an easy trick. In order to do so, future SS and Medicare spending will have to be addressed.

No I know Beretta, just ranting about the obvious that seems not so obvious to those who love to bend over and take it over and over from the government. I say let them give more of their own money since they think that is how to best solve overspending. At tax time just give more. I give enough.

I am so with you. One has to realize who we are debating with here. Most, not all take extreme positions just for the sake of taking them. I'd love to know how many libs live by the rules they set here.

I could name names but won't. You sense that they know how ridiculous they sound but yet they dig in because nothing is at stake here.

Take taxes. The left talks big. Yet when they get their paystub from Wendy's and open and read it in their parent's basements...they are the first to whine and bitch about how much tax was taken out.

Can't buy many video games on $78.00 a week.

I can only imagine. Many of us have done well by following the same economic rules we would expect of the government. Obviously the SOP of our government is NOT working.

I said this a few weeks ago. We're dealing with entrenched ideologues here many of whom have nothing at stake. So they sit here all day and tell everyone how they are right and the GOP is wrong.

Then they sit at the dinner table and their old man sets their dumbasses straight.
