It was a democratic, two of them, that started Vietnam. JFK sent advisers into south Vietnam in the beginning of the 1960s and his successor was the first to send in the army. That was the beginning of the vietnam war. What emerged was the hard left in the sixties that seemed to oppose their own party's and the successive party's policies in vietnam aka the vietnam war.
Here we go in 2003 when many democrats, including Hillary clinton, supported the invasion of Iraq and the same repeated pattern occurred again. The hard left emerged once again to oppose the invasion of Iraq.
It seems that there are two halves of the democratic party and I'm wondering if the average democrat thinks the democratic party represents them.
