Does CNN realize we are a Christian nation?

No we are not. We are not a theocracy. Those never end well.

ARTICLE 11.

As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion,-as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen,-and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.
lol. Are they looking for a lost contact?

It was on April 30th 1789 when George Washington raised his right hand and placed his left on the Bible which had been opened randomly to Genesis 49 due to running behind.
He then walked a few blocks to attend a service as passed in a congressional resolution two days prior:
Resolved, That after the oath shall have been administered to the President, he, attended by the Vice President and members of the Senate and House of Representatives, shall proceed to St. Paul’s Chapel, to hear divine service.

And we still use the Bible to swear our officials in. We are one nation, under God.

The part of the First Amendment that says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; " is intentionally worded to keep our government secular i.e. non-religious.
It does not say that all people need to be athiests, or Catholics, or Baptists, or Episcopalians, or Buddhists, or Muslims, or Satanists, or any of the other 10,000 religions in the world.
Likewise it does not say that citizens cannot embrace any of these faiths either.
That is what "secular" means.
The government's job is to re.ain neutral and refrain from sanctioning or rejecting any one belief system.
Athiesm is a personal belief that there is/are no god(s)
It just means no one religion trumps another period, it is a restriction on Government not religion

Agreed.
It is a restriction on the government giving the appearance of favoring any one religion over others.
And that is why the U.S. government can never allow any one religion to become our "official" one.....because that would be favoring it.

It is. Secular is the same as godless. Proof of that? What is the secular position on abortion?
A medical procedure involving the removal of unwanted fetal tissue from a woman's body before it can grow into an unwanted organism and finally a "baby."
Any "moral" or ethical considerations involving this procedure are solely the responsibility of the woman not society, and certainly not any religious groups.

Now, what is the Christian Taliban's position?

We’re not a Christian nation, though. Our founders wanted no part of a state religion, given their experience with the Church of England, and thus we have separation of church and state.

It would be more correct to say that the majority of our nation is comprised of Christians. But it is not the state religion.

You just gave the atheist position on abortion, thus proving my point. Thanks!

Not at all.
I am not an athiest. I am very spiritual. I just do not believe in the same childish, cartoon rendetion of God that Christians have reduced it to.
Christians tend to model their concept of God after themselves....which is ridiculous.
Nor do I believe in heaven and hell.
Life after death?
Yes.
Virgin birth?
Ressurected zombie "saviors"....Noah's Ark....Adam & Eve.....or any of those other Bronze Age, fictitious, mythological fantasies written by primitive men who barely had any understanding of the world at all?
Nope.
Prayer?
Sure.....but not like Christians do it....pretending their "God" is like some magical but moody Santa Claus somewhere in the sky that they send their wish lists to via invisible intercom and MAYBE....just maybe their Santa Claus God will grant their wishes?
Naw!
Just more ridiculousness.
My God is REAL.
The Christian version of God is just a cartoon.

Church attendance has fallen over 40% in twenty years.

Three in 10 Americans say they attend religious services every week (21%) or almost every week (9%), while 11% report attending about once a month and 56% seldom (25%) or never (31%) attend.

Mormons have the best record of 56%.

I assure you there is nothing cartoonish about the teachings of Jesus. They're all grounded in truth and reality. Some are obvious, and some are not readily apparent. Thinking people will come to the understanding they all make perfect sense.

Do you really think most people take you as an authentic member of the RCC?

Why is it, not one person can consider the Father, Fathers are not receiving equal protection. It is equally his child and may have more of his DNA, DNA transfer happens at conception, therefore, at conception it is it's own person, and should be protected. Thew moral implications are far greater. The left considers a rapist gang banger from another country before a baby in the womb that is a problem! He doesn't carry it, is simply biological, and something both parties should consider before engaging in sex.

Belief must be met with actions or no nation is really religious. As I understand it the U.S has an explicit division of church from state, though I have heard some arguments that this was not specifically outlined.
