And by campaigned for him, you mean some of Obama's ancestors lived in the same town on Odinga. Using this standard, I've campaign for a lot of people I think are crazy as hell.

When he first ran in Illinois he ran for the New Party. This is a fact.
And the New Party are socialists. And he was endorsed by Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).

The purpose of the meeting was to update members on local activities and to hear appeals for NP support from four potential political candidates. The NP is being very active in organization building and politics. There are 300 members in Chicago. In order to build an organizational and financial base the NP is sponsoring house parties. Locally it has been successful both fiscally and in building a grassroots base. Nationwide it has resulted in 1000 people committed to monthly contributions. The NP's political strategy is to support progressive candidates in elections only if they have a concrete chance to "win". This has resulted in a winning ratio of 77 of 110 elections. Candidates must be approved via a NP political committee. Once approved, candidates must sign a contract with the NP. The contract mandates that they must have a visible and active relationship with the NP.
The political entourage included Alderman Michael Chandler, William Delgado, chief of staff for State Rep Miguel del Valle, and spokespersons for State Sen. Alice Palmer, Sonya Sanchez, chief of staff for State Sen. Jesse Garcia, who is running for State Rep in Garcia's District; and Barack Obama, chief of staff for State Sen. Alice Palmer. Obama is running for Palmer's vacant seat.

Except that didn't happen. He did go to Kenya on a fact-finding mission, but he didn't speak at rallies in praise of anyone. In fact, Odinga's name is not even mentioned in the AP story.

Why would CBS2 run a story entitled this? Now the story has been removed from CBS but enough people on the net captured the story and the original link. I frankly can't believe the number of scrubbed sites related to Obama. Quite fascinating.
And why be upset or ashamed at campaigning for a communist? Why be upset with the truth.
Hell's bells he ran for the New Party in Chicago. Odinga's just another link in the very left leaning world of Obama.

(CBS) There are signs of tension between Sen. Barack Obama and African leaders. On Monday, Obama stepped up his criticism of government corruption in Kenya.
But as CBS 2 Political Editor Mike Flannery reports, the government fired back, saying Obama is a stooge for an opposing political party.

A potential presidential candidate himself, Odinga's been at Obama's elbow here fairly often and is a member of the Obama family's Luo tribe.
"Sen. Obama has to look at critically about where he's receiving his advice from," said government spokesman Dr. Alfred Mutua. "Just because somebody, somewhere wants to run for president and is using Sen. Obama as his stooge, as his puppet to be able to get to where he wants to get to."

And come to think of it, it was seriously outrageous of the new young Senator from Illinois to be going to any country and slamming the leadership of the country that is hosting him.
All on your tax dollars. He's interfering in another country's politics even before he became President.
Oh and I love how he scolded them....
Obama said the Kenyan government must reduce patronage jobs and increase salaries for the remaining employees to reduce temptation for taking bribes.
It also needs clear laws and regulations so that individual bureaucrats cannot twist the rules to their own ends, Obama said.

In speeches to adoring crowds, Obama harshly criticized Kenyan officials for engaging in graft and political divisiveness based on ethnicity. He said transparent government is needed to encourage Kenya's economic growth.

I wanted to address this supposed "fact finding mission". He spoke at rallies. He gave political speeches.
He pissed off the Kenyan government so much they actually issued a press release that I finally located in my stack of stuff.
