hydroxychloroquine seems to lesson the severity of the virus when used in the early stages. Nearly all doctors have known this for months. Trump was quick to point out that it was working and the media hated the idea that he was on to something and they ran with it. The lemmings continue to lap it up, but real doctors, even the Democrats, know it is not dangerous and it seems to help.

There's no evidence to support claiming it works for anyone. The medical community had picked it up before Trump said anything and were using it liberally. But the studies came up short and so it fell out of favor. If he hadn't been banging on about it constantly (with his typical hyperbolic nonsense), this would be uncontroversial, but he's got to go and stick his malignant personality where it doesn't belong.
